It came out the way I wanted it to but I have to admit it took a little longer than I thought.
I have no doubt any of the guys on this board could do one just as easily.

Re: My 57 Pro Street

That is a stupendous amount of work. It all looks like it paid off. Great looking truck. I didn't like the bed until I saw it on the truck with fenders, and it looks pretty awsome.

Thanks for the compliments. I took a chance on the bed but I'm real happy with it.

"took a chance" dude your like macgyver doing fab work. That bed is one of my favorite parts of this forum. I cant wait to see what you come up with "using only a coat hanger, a scrap piece of 3/4 and an emergency brake cable, he creates an exhaust cut out" Seriously you have skills and its awesome how you make it work.

Thanks Jim.
The F**d is my brothers. He doesn't have enough room at his place so the body is here while we get the frame together at his place.

Re: My 57 Pro Street

Are you going to narrow or profile the bumper at the ends to keep the same gap as it turns the corner?

Love the " jackstands " that are holding your bumper.

I have to use whats available and they were nice and wide.
I set the front tires in them when I was doing my hood and needed extra room to crawl under and get up in the engine compartment.

Re: My 57 Pro Street

Nice going! I'm going make brackets for my bumper that weld on just to clean up the bumper, I will probably leave it the original way. If I ever get to my bumper.. Thanks for the idea

Re: My 57 Pro Street

Looks great so far. I would be going nuts if i did all the mods you are doing. I am a "blow and go" kind of guy with no patience.
Thanks for the bumper mod, i will do something similar for mine without welding brackets to the bumper. The bumper bolts let mine look semi original.
Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Thanks for the encouragement.
When you're building on a budget you learn to have patience. It also gives me something to do to the truck while I wait for funds to regenerate.

Re: My 57 Pro Street

It's been a while since I've checked my own build thread.
I've been busy helping my brother put a 4-link and new brakes on his truck.

If you're talking about my grill I had to have the chrome removed so I could make it a one piece. I will most likely paint it a contrasting color to what is going on the rest of the truck.

Wow man, I just spent the better part of the day (on and off) reading your whole thread. I love the bed, it had to take lots of guts to even attempt this and it came out killer!!!! The sectioning of the hood took huge balls too!!!!! I dig the firewall and straight dash as well. Awesome creativity and imagination! I feel like I need to step up my game now ;~)
