Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

did a quick wheel check, and have one lower arm left to finish, still need to touch up the paint and tighten the ball joints and tie rod down on the drivers side, regrease the joints and bleed the brake system, do an eyeball alignment, and install windshield and front bumper and i should be just about done enough for the car show

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

not much of an update, was at the docs almost all day. but, i installed the front bumper, touched up the paint on the drivers lower a arm, drilled the holes out bigger for the plastic screw inserts, and remounted the front plate with a new black frame and a smoked lens cover. no pic of that but here is one of the bumper mounted and adjusted.

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

hahaha, i was waiting for someone to ask me that lol. that hole is in the bumper because i traded my chrome bumper to my friend for this one, i traded because i didnt want to grind down the chrome on a good bumper just to paint it black. that bumper came off of his 69 longhorn, the previous owner before him drilled 2 holes to the left(drivers side), for mounting the license plate, and cut that hole out to allow air to flow better to the trans cooler that was mounted between the frame rails while towing.

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

got the drivers side and passanger side complete minus bleeding the brakes, regreasing a few things, and putting the wheels on, airing it up, and dropping it back down. also repainted the bumper again due to a few light scratches from people rubbing against it while walking in front of it oh well . and also took a pic of the front with the license plate on with the new black frame and smoked lense cover

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

greased the few things that needed it, put the wheels back on and dropped it back on the ground. aired it all the way up and let it all the way down, found out i need to trim a little off the bottom of the carrier bearing crossmember as it is holding it up a little and not letting it lay completely out. also found out i need to loosen up the core support bolts and shift it to the drivers side slightly.
