Back in the fifties and sixties there were a lot of house trailers manufactured in Georgia and trucks like this were used to deliver them to the buyers. Before interstates came along it was very common to see them on the road and really irritating to get behind one on a hilly road. I've always thought these tugs looked cool and maybe would be fun to drive.

That was probably from the 10X 40 or 10X 50 days. The shack shakers were a bit heavier duty in the 70's when I was working on them at a Ryder truck rental shop.

They cut AD trucks down like that around here to use to pull trailers to pick hops with to haul them to the kilns. Some hop growers had fleets of 50 or so of them.

Found this with two big window TF trucks 56 & 57 both long bed project trucks today.
I'll have to say I am real tempted on the green one.

I'm not sure if this is a find or not but the price is right.
50 miles south of me, 30 miles east of Hogfarm.

Looks to be a 4100 but 650 for a decent looking 49 cab with original paint still on it might be pretty interesting to some 25 miles from me.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!

I'm assuming each but the guy has TWO TF big window trucks.
https://yakima.craigslist.org/pts/d/...186662551.html

It's probably a real good thing that I don't have any money and any space to store them as I have had a bad want for a 56 Big window since the early 70's.

I am pretty sure I know the guy who has those and he buys and sells and trades all the time.

The 30-31 pickup cab in the background is what piqued my interest.

BTW, thanks for posting pics. It's frustrating when I click a link and it's already expired. It's nice to know what I missed!

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!

This guys has had these pieces at the last few local swap meets I have been to and it looks like he still has them Not that bad of price for all the trinkets combined to do up a 235.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...14019028855796

I'm not sure what the going price for Wayne valve and side covers are for a 235 but think that would eat most of his asking price up.

Looking it up the normal asking price for the Wayne valve and side covers are 340.99 https://www.ecklers.com/chevy-valve-...All%20Products

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!

I'm thinking that is the very rusted out chopped Model A sedan body that I looked at at his place several years ago. From that distance it really looks nice but get up close and it has tiny rust holes all over some of the panels. He wanted 800 for it then. It has one of the nicest chops I have ever seen on a Model A sedan though.

Can't blame a guy for trying! It'd make a fun little mini-motorhome.

I am really sick of this PC garbage. EVERYTHING is being construed as having some nasty connotation. You can't even give the "OK" sign anymore, although somebody did it during the televising of the 24 hours at LeMans yesterday. I guess he lost his job.

Being accused of riding the "short bus" is very anti - pc. An insult dating to 60+ years ago. Most PC types are too stupid to even know what it means. And yes some today have IQ's you can count on two hands.

Argh, I got sucked into a political discussion. I'm already on Liz's probation list; this is one of those times when I wish you could delete your messages on this forum!

How about a pretty picture of a truck instead?
