And don't forget Long Beach Veteran's Stadium and Donut Derelicts here in HB.

Yes, Thursday- Sunday. Friday night/Saturday are the best. Sunday is when the out of towners start leaving. There's live music, food and a ton of cars. Good times

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
We have a neighborhood show that's called cars and coffee. It's a cool little every Sunday morning thing but sounds boring compared to donut derelicts.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
Yeah, the Donut Derelicts just sprang up out of a few guys meeting every Saturday at dawn. Now - many years later - you have to get a spot in the parking lot by 5AM or be relegated to the outskirts of the lot. By 09:30 it's all over - in consideration of the businesses in the shopping center - and every piece of trash is picked up.
Everything can be seen there and many clubs send representatives with 5-10 cars at a time. Now that I've got a digital camera I may start going again, as it's only a half mile from my house. The one thing they do not tolerate there is 'The Concourse Crowd' and they'll badger anybody that shows up with a 100-Point vehicle of any type. That's for Carmel - not Surf City. Mac.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
We have a lot of friends in OC. We always wanted to go there when we spend the night at our friends house, but always forget to. When my truck is running we will have to go.

Not yet. I don't have anything that cruises yet. I should sign up to get all of the show updates but I've been putting it off.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
I used the tailgate as a saw horse the other day. I thought about taking a picture and posting it up but never did. Been busy trying to finish the MGA project but the deadline is pushed back so I can work on the truck a bit now. Next update will be raising the bed floor. Stay tuned.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
Me too. It's been slow going lately but I worked on it yesterday for a while and figured out how I'm going to raise the bed floor. I'm going to fab a completely new floor. I'll try and take a bunch of pics. It may be a few weekends of work. We'll see.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
So, I'm back. Not that I went anywhere. I've been watching for too long and now it's time for a post. The last few weeks have been busy so I've been sneaking out for an hour or two at a time. I figured out how my gas tank is fitting in and how to raise the bed floor. These pics are of the mods to the rear sill that I cut into to squeeze the tank. I boxed the inside where I cut for strength and you can see some reinforcement welds to the rear bed mounts. The tank seams are sitting on top of the bottom rail of the frame. It's not strapped in yet. I haven't figured out how to secure it yet but I'm thinking about running a strap all the way around it. Bed floor frame structure will be my next post.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
I'm making a complete false floor that is three inches up from where it was originally. Basically, I'm welding 1/8" angle all the way around on the bedsides and the new wood will sit on top of the angle and be flush with the sides. I'm going to make new cross support pieces out of 1/8" thick 1" square tube. I don't have the material yet but will soon. The front bed mounts will be fabbed out of 3" pipe and I'm going to use an old cross rail that supported the wood to mount to. It fits perfectly into the space between the old flange that was on top of the wood and the angle that will be the new wood support. More pics to come soon.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
It's from an early 80's K5 blazer I found at the junkyard. The seats are still in it and I was thinking about picking them up too. They need recovering and I'll have to fab a bracket to mount them on. Have you seen any threads with K5 seats in a 4-5-6? I know I've someone has done it I just can't remember the screen name.
