Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Here is a good tech tip for those of you can't stand the squeeking whenever your wipers are on:
I thought that just greasing the linkage cups would take care of my problem, it did not. So after removing once again, figured out that is was the actual pivot assembly or whatever you call it. This is a non-serviceable part, at least it wasn't. As you can tell by the pictures a small drill bit in about the middle of the assembly allows you to use a mini grease gun to add grease and squeek is gone.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Hey guys thought I would update you on my 2nd gen crew cab build. The cab is basically done now, I'm just doing little touches up here and there will be ready for a new home by Saturday.
I will like your opinion on something. I have had a few requests for a two door extended cab. Of course you know that I would build it to look factory if they every made one, I would love to get your input...yeah or nah. Pictures below our currently being voted on, on our facebook (rtechfabrications) for a t-shirts we are having made up for the Portland Swap Meet. Would love your input on this also. I have started stretching a longhorn frame the same way I stretched the frame for my truck. I'm building a two wheel drive one ton dually short bed frame. Well begin working on that next week and then starting another crew cab. PS; Jeremy how is your crew cab project going? PS; Diesel Wrencher how is your twelve valve project coming?

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
I think an extended cab would be awesome! The hardest part would be getting the rear windows to flow with everything else and look like they belong there. I see lost of really nice extended cab conversions where everything looks wicked except for the actual window itself. But if anyone can make it look right, it's you

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Absolutely have to agree ^ if you could actually build the rear side windows with the look of the front that would be amazing it might have to keep the round from the tea of the window and make it on both sides up top to look correct I'd have to draw it out to see that vision though

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
I say the middle one too.
On the rear window, I've always thought they would look cool with a window the same shape as the front door except with a squared off front. Then maybe take a door frame top part, split in half and use as trim so it will look like the front window. I don't know how it'll actually look for real though.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Well, the Suburban project is coming a long real nice. I haven't messed with the Longhorn in a while. But, once this suburban is out of here it's back at the Longhorn. How have you been doing?

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
I'm curious to see what a crew cab short would look like...I know there was a "tahoe" build on here a while back that looked pretty deadly.

I can't wait to see what long doors look like on a crew cab. Have you started your frame yet? My second cab will be completely finished tomorrow, I will be starting two new cabs next week, one will another four door and the other will be an extended cab ( like the green dually above) that is definitely the way to do an extended cab.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
I finally found the tires that I was looking for. So I have finally been able to put my white wheels and hub caps on my truck. I also chose to put beauty rings on it. All that I have left now is to install the headliner which will be the same kind of headliner that is in the suburbans. In addition to that I will be coming up with some kind of way of concealing a sound system, so that it can be heard but not seen.
Finally got the t-shirts back that we will be selling at the Portland Swap Meet. I think they turned out great (see picture below).
