Well boys, no pics to share but thought I would drop a quick line to let you know I am still inching my way towards the finish line.
Last week I finally told myself to sh*t or get off the pot in regards to the 327 motor. Got her fired up and ran ok but with a slight miss. Pulled the plugs and ran a compression test. All cylinders were great (around 120) except one that was at 80. Was really dreading fitting new alternator and ac on the front of the motor with no mounting holes in the front of the head anyway so "out came the 327" and dropped in a good running 350 I had stashed for just such a purpose. Actually weekend before the 327 came out and this past Sunday the 350 got married back up and bolted in place.
Saturday my painter/bodyman was out for another thrash session. Painted the doors and the bed. These are the last major pieces to go so will start assembling Homer soon.
Removed the valve cover and the 327 was probably the cleanest small block I had ever seen other than LS motors. Looked spotless. I think I will be dropping a nice cam in it and another set of head with acc. holes and it may make it back in either Homer or the 63 GMC I have waiting in the wings.
Anyhow, not a ton of progress, but some.
Will start assembly two weekends from now and post some pics.

Well boys, it's finally time to show some progress pic. Forgive me if I post too many, but this is mainly a illustrated album with timeline so that once it's all done I (and others) can reflect on how I got here. Not by myself, that's for sure.
My bodyman/painter Corey came back out for another day of fun in the sun (108*) by the time we called it.
Wet sanded the hood, doors, front fenders, rear fenders, and the bed top. Hung the doors and front fenders for now so I can start assembling the truck.

Thanks Flashed. I would pull it. Evidently "your money" isn't as good as the next guys. You sure would not put up with that stuff if it was at a muffler shop?

I appreciate all the kind words from all of you, and good feedback. Now it's my turn to wire it up, plumb all the lines, basically put it back together. Hopefully within the next 60 days Homer will be back on the road again. Hopefully.

Trying to find an 8 lug front differential. . I've most likely decided to go 4x4 on it...

My problem with pulling my truck is there will be no payment at all ,he is going to do it for free eventually with the understanding he can use the truck to pull his camper whenever he wants .

thanks. I believe it will be one of one. I have searched extensively & cannot find another 67-72 1 ton dually short bed step side. That is the only thing I have not been able to find. Every other thing has been done I could think of.

Thanks. I also really enjoy the final stretch. seems to drag on but you can really see progress when you put in a good days work. Not like other portions of the build when it looks worse at days end.
