Those bear wheels are awesome. I know you are planning on powdercoating them all as different Care Bears too, aren't you?

Re: My 63 farm truck build thread

I believe the mileage is closer to 13 than 15. The more I drive this truck the more I realize it is simply very unaerodynamic. At 70 you can tell that you're pushing a whole lot of wind versus the 67-72 trucks I've been dealing with so long.

Man, I love your truck and the build history! Read the build all the way through. I have a friend with a 62 stepside, he is looking for a new gauge face, where did you get yours?

I don't know of anyone who makes a new lens for the cluster so I polished an old extra one of mine for a long time.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: My 63 farm truck build thread

Well, I got tired of the big truck grille real quick for some reason so I swapped back to the 63 one. I'm all loaded up and leaving for the big Pate swap meet. I'm going to be out there from Wednesday through Sunday trying to hawk some powdercoated parts off for tire money so I can get the Ronal Teddy Bear wheels on.

Yes, those are tables and grilles on top of the rack headed for the swap. It may be ugly but that rack does the job...

Re: My 63 farm truck build thread

Hhmmm.... I like both grilles. The correct one does fit the truck 'better' IMO.
Maybe that big truck grille would work on a 64 ?

I really did like the big truck grill on there, but you can't hardly beat a '63 grill....I think it is my favorite!

You gonna be at the swap meet all weekend? I think the family and I might come check it out.

i like the big truck grille too, its unique, i agree it would look cool if you could put the CHEVROLET sign from the top in the midddle of it. I do like th 63s as well, my favorite is the GMCs tho, i got a 65

Hard to beat that 63 grill. The big truck grill looks good too but would probably be best on a 4-5-6 truck.

Re: My 63 farm truck build thread

I finally got to see TX's farm-truck in person.

Very straight body w/the exception of the hood. He started working the dent out but ran out of time (so far, so good though). He's done quality work & it shows. I can't wait to see the 'new' stuff he's working on. He also gave some good info for some of the interior stuff I want to do on mine (complete door window re-vamps).

I have been lurking and didn't want to be a naysayer.... Good choice going back to the '63 grille, old school rules.

And the John Deere front plate is spot on!

The John Deere plate is cool! As for the 63 grille vs. the 64 commercial grille debate.... I permanently solved that dilemma for TX on Friday night .
