Re: 67 GMC super custom build
The passenger side is complete except the wiring and switch. I finished the mechanism for the driver side as well. Here is the pass seat and the console mounted. the pass seat is a little bit higher now than the console cause of the 1" I raised it for the power tracks but should be ok. I cant raise the console because the Velcro strap wouldn't line up to keep it open but probably wouldn't anyway.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I think I'm going to lower the seat frame so that the seats sit level. The more I look at it the more I don't like them offset.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I agree the seats need to be level. Just another example of how you look at every detail of your build. Always tuning in just to see what you have come up with new. Great work!

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I may try to use my mosified cst horn button from my other wheel on my telescopic wheel. This may not be possible but it would look nice.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Here is a picture of the power seat switches i'll be using. it is hard to find a 2 way power seat switch. wow everything out there is a 6 way. from gm they had to come from a limo. Also I am toying with the idea of adding heated seats. I would be putting a new modern set up in the truck. 1966 Cadillac had heated seats optional and here is what the switch looks like. I am trying to have one made by someone with a cnc machine. If he can make it I will probably do it and mount the switch on the bottom of the dash beside the a/c vent. may just do driver seat but unsure.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
James did an awesome job finishing up the seat frame. He lifted the back under the console so the stock jack can still be removed when needed. The seats sit nice now and the full use of the tilt telescopic wheel can be used!

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
This switch bezel is exactly the same as the seat heat switch. Here is where they will mount. Just it will be flush with the bottom of the dash so all you would see is the words. I think if the modern harness will work with these switches I will do this mod.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I made a filler strip to cover the tracks and mount my seat switch to for the passenger seat. Here is how it looks. not sure if I should polish up the aluminum, Paint it or cover it with the same color vinyl as the seat. the cars always had a surround on the edges of the seat that was polished aluminum so I might go that route.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
the foam work on the bottom of those seats looks awfull. I may get the upholster guy to fix that when I bring them to get my seat heat pads in them.

Got my seat heaters going now just to get the pads in the seats. Work perfect with the old style metal under dash switches.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I only skimmed the thread, but very cool build. My grandpa's '58 Caddy has auto dimming headlights and its pretty trick. Keep the pics coming.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Got pictures of my new horn center piece today. Telescopic wasn't available in anything gmc so I traded the bow tie out. One with raised letters and one with engraved letters. They look sharp.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I got the guide matic dial and reostat mounted. The back dial is the guide matic and the front is twilight sentinel. I also got the dials a bit closer to the gauge bezel.
