Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build

Fellas thanks for the good words and also for following along for all these years.

The chrome was a little light on “Lights” and best appreciated on the L. Wondering if it’s possibly from shelf wear. Chrome on the “Wiper-Washer” seems all intact but hard to convey with a photo. Good call on the direction arrows, no chrome on these recesses.

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build

Here’s the NOS GM appliqué compared with a NOS example from Golden State pickup parts. Also a better photo of the glovebox prior to install.

Glovebox door looks really good. I have a few nos dashes with the chrome, but the turn indicator holes were chromed which isn't really correct. Sorta strange. Thanks for the info.

Hell, I love the box. Edit: Looks like you picked it up for $25. Good buy.

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build

Thanks! Yep, back to all OEM save for a 700R4 tranny, dual exhaust, and maybe the 16.5 x 9.75 steelies. I also like the stock look. In the end, if looks anywhere close to yours I'll be pleased.

You said you're going all original. Yes? Personally I like the look of the originals, with the wider wheels to support a larger tire. Nothing more is really needed. I'm seriously considering taking mine back down to stock and putting the original wheels back on, taking off the lift, and finding a set of caps. The lift/wheel combo on mine is ok, but not needed for me.

Now if I could find a place where chevy truck buffs would look for wheels and a lift kit... hmmm.

I'll be watching. Nice start!
saa.

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build

Pete, that is going to be "super" nice when you get finished. Remember when you get the engine rebuilt to remind them to not deck off those #'s that are on the engine. They show that it is a 1972 k20 auto.
