Yes I do. The church is what got me back out of retirement a few years ago. They just needed a fill in and within a few months I was full time. I started studying with a local drummer 18 months ago and it feels pretty good. I take a one hour lesson each week. I have a few other guys I jam with and every now and then we play a gig. Playing drums is something I really enjoy.

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean

certainly different from stock but with the addition of vinyl removal later will have the truck permanently two toned from it being sheltered on top opposed to the bottom but that's only if you keep it a long time.
Personally I like it the black on the wheels really set this truck off either design current or added black would look great

I like the black on top look. You said you were thinking vinyl, look in to a thing called "plasti Dip". Bought mine from homedepot. It is a cheep way to try and see if you like something and then if you do, you would not have to do anything more just leave it. I have used it before and it is Durable.

like the new look , how about a black 6 inch tail pipe and also from what it seems in the pix you gonna do the top part in flat black , how about blacking out the bumpers and grille , ive seen it done in a few trucks and it looks pretty mean specially on a dually, just throwing ideas at you ,

I love the stock wheel mod and the new tires.

Are the Terra Grapplers 6, 8, or 10 ply?

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean

thanks guys for the opinions. I am really happy that I made a nice improvement that cost me just a little money($6 for a can of paint). Damn, its nice not to have to buy an expensive set of wheels like we all have done for our trucks.

I tried to check the load rating on Nitto's website and it said 3900 lbs. I really like these tires because they are quite. I have had my share of 4 x 4 trucks all my life and I have never been into mud tires. Heck, the price you pay for a new truck who wants to get it muddy!!!!! These Duragrapplers ride nice and dont make alot of noise. They are in limited sizes though and do no get real big in size. I had some of Nitto's Trail Grapplers on my last truck (40's radials) and they were nice too. I think Nitto makes a great tire.

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean

Time for a little update on my thread. Trust me when I say if there are any significant developments I would let you guys know. Between a 1970 frame off on a Chevelle and a Corvette project I have been busy. I have finally brought in a few guys to help out so I can make some progress.

One thing that has transpired is I removed the 454 and had a motor built. A nice 468 cu inch monster. I should be picking the motor up next week. I will get a video of it on the engine stand and post it.

One thing we worked on which haunts all of us is our hood hinges. We started working with some hinges I got from a company I have always loved and purchased quite a bit of product from. One of the hinges had a bad weld which is probably the only bad weld they have every made. I have two problems now the hinges are installed. When the hood closes it pushes in up in the back. Right now the hinge bracket is laying on the bottom of the drip tray..........lower would mean cutting a hole. The other problem is I am not sure if these hood hinges are as clean as I want them to be. There will be nothing on my firewall and they may be too busy. Advice from anyone???

Here are the seats I picked up for the truck. Don't laugh when I say they came out of a Hyundai

Also, please do not laugh at the mock up.........yes this is a plywood console which is not staying in the truck. We were just playing around trying to get a perspective. I think we are going with metal.

Here is a car I own with the same Hyundai seats in them........they can be made to look pretty killer

I'm sure no one will be laughing at anything out your shop. How about the grant kustoms hinges with a prop rod? A lot cleaner

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean

Hey guys.....long time no see!! A little progress on the C10 but not enough to share. We are finishing up a few projects and havnt had time. I am really itching to get this finished. We are already talking about cutting out the dash and building something one off. Remember the silver painted 468 motor..........its now black and very shiny. The best part is the 2 inch cog belt system on it. Wow it is tuff. I just got everything bolted on the motor today and wanted to show it off. For now its garage eye candy!!

p.s. thats a cool 1966 Corvette frame in the background

What is your screen name over there. I guess you have seen why I havent worked on the truck. I am hoping to start getting some progress in the coming weeks on the c10.

A while back I built a room inside my garage. The bottom part was enclosed and I installed an in wall exhaust fan for grinding, sanding, and dirty work. This way the rest of the garage could stay relatively clean. I made a loft above it so I could store parts and supplies to keep out of the way. Parts are normally the items that clutter up a garage.

BEFORE

I wanted a little atmosphere in the garage and this room was the perfect place to do it. I installed real brick venires and used concrete stucco to give the plaster over brick theme. I bought new metal roofing from Lowes and used acid to make it rust and then brought in a faux painter to make the plaster look old. I made the round sign out of old pallet wood and had a painter do the graphics on it.

AFTER

On the hood hinges I have the same problem, I called Porter and he said I had some of the first ones and he since corrected the problem he sent me new pieces that bolt to the outside of the firewall and the struts bolt to (I haven't switched mine out yet so I cant tell you if it solved the problem, but he said it would)

As for everything else......AMAZING ! Coolest shop EVER !

the garage is looking sweet man. I first thought the brick work was just a painted brick but what you did is awesome. I think my wife is lucky my shop doesn't look that good or else she would never see me, lol.
