Re: My long term 57 project
Thanks guys! I'm very excited about this next phase of the build, but it will take sometime to get it all sorted out and find the trim pieces I need to complete it.
Russell, it all came together so quickly, I didn't think to drop you a PM, would have liked to have seen your 57, and the BBQ was awesome!!

Re: My long term 57 project
Thanks! I'm out on Johns Island and I work out of the house so I'm here most of the time. Shoot me a message if you're ever in the area and wanna swing by. Looking to get out and hit up some local events too now that the weather is getting nice.

Thanks! I like what you've got going on with yours too. I'm really starting to like the look of the PorterBuilt stuff and stance!

Re: My long term 57 project
Well guys I was finally able to get a complete set from a guy out of OK. Just need to polish it all up, clean up some rust and get it all on!!
It will be a few weeks before I can get it done, lots of work and taking the kids to Universal Studios in Orlando and a family wedding. Can't wait to see it installed!!!!

Re: My long term 57 project
Getting started on the clean-up of the GMC grill pieces. Picked up 2 gallons of Evapo-Rust for Harbor Freight and let it sit for 24 hrs. It looks like it will eat all of the surface rust away and leave a nice clean surface for some silver Rustoleum!

Re: My long term 57 project
Slowly making progress on the GMC parts. Cleaned up the backside of a couple of the pieces and brushed on some aluminum Rustoleum, sprayed the hardware semi-flat black.

Re: My long term 57 project
That looks great. Adding more chrome is always a good thing to me. It looks heavy, did it add much weight to the front of the truck?

Re: My long term 57 project
Thanks guys, glad you like it!
The bullets and the center piece only weigh about 10-12 lbs., and the 3 park light pieces are just stamped sheet metal, so I think it only added maybe 15 lbs. total.
