Re: Project: Turbo 250
Just found your thread nice work! Been to Monroe many times for Cheese Days when visiting my sister, she lived in Oneco on old 26 in the first house going south on the west side with the big garage. I"ll be watching, love the 6 banger.

The GMC big 6 was the engine of choice for a lot of the early Hot Roders in the 50's.

Yeah... I dont doubt it! At the time I just decided to keep the 250 then I didnt have to go looking for anything else. I considered doing an LS swap but the price was the same as doing my 250, and I think the 250 has a little more wow factor, JMHO!

Re: Project: Turbo 250
NP435 4 speed on the floor. It is a pretty heavy duty trans, and with the 3.07 rear gears the ratios come out pretty nice. I will post an excel file on monday when I get back in town of the RPM band in each gear. The T5 (even the world class T5) would not hold up to the power or pulling capabilities of this truck. And my budget was not enough to purchase a custom built tranny. If for some reason the final drive is still pushing too many RPM's I can switch out the rear gears for the set of 2.76's I have on the shelf.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Blocked all of the fenders and doors completed the bodywork, now just have to finish sanding off the rest of the paint and shoot the epoxy tomorrow. I also was able to finish the window tinting with a 35% tint

Re: Project: Turbo 250
I wasnt sure if it would be worth it since I dont have much body work to be done, but it was definately worth it when all my bondo is less than 1/16"
Thanks! Quote:
I cant wait to see it either It will be a couple days with all the block sanding done. I am looking forward to seeing your new shop/ garage!

LMAO I get to put myself through Pain and Torture On a side note well they are not sure if i broke my wrist or not they are going to re x-ray in a week. I really hate stupid drivers. Either way the giant sized sawhorse/swingset worked really well!

Re: Project: Turbo 250
motorcycle incidents are the worst can't tell you how many close calls I've been in with only a few years on the road under my belt at least I've been on motorcycles since I was 2-3 to know better than most idiotic drivers out there. glad you're okay but that cast will be killin the rest of us too
