Awesome progress on the doors and fenders. I took advantage of that nice weather myself. Back to arctic tomorrow ...

Looks great man! How's your motivation level after seeing it sitting outside like that? A 10? I pushed my cj7 outside today to wet sand the high build, and something about seeing sitting outside again, lit the fire. Anyway, your truck is gonna look awesome when you get that black on!

Thanks Scott! I just gotta get it all smooth and level like now. The Black is very unforgiving!

My next door neighbor offered to pull me around the block so I could take it for a spin. Ha! Yes seeing it outside the garage got me going. I just got in from the garage a bit ago. Had to at least get one side good and straight. Just got the passenger side left to do then the cowl. My hood is already painted so I'm reluctant to put it on, don't want to scratch it but I have to at some point anyway; so I guess I will, but it'll be taped up big time.

You're making me want to build another jeep with that jeep talk.
Here's my last one. I sold it though. :-(

Here my last jeep fresh out of the garage.
http://ozarksjeepthing.com/c/index.p....html#msg56305

And out in the trails during its shakedown run.
http://ozarksjeepthing.com/c/index.p....html#msg56311

Those are deep links to my build thread on that site if you ever get bored check it out... I did a ton of fabricating on that jeep. 1 ton axles, 40" pit bull rockers, locked front and rear, twin stick too.

Oh do I know. The thought did cross my mind, but I've got a little filler work to do, some glazing, and lots of blocking. I want this thing to be straight! I'm working with all original metal here... save for the rockers, inner cab supports, and cab corners.

I'm still mopping up drool after looking through that jeep build. WOW! You have got some serious fab skills. My CJ is a toy compared to that thing. Should be done painting in a couple weeks. I'll send you some pictures when I'm done.

Re: Project 69SWB

Alright folks I've wired brushed, gator wheeled, sand blasted, converted, stripped with acid stuffs, covered up and stink eyed rust as much as I can stand it.. The're got to be a better way.

I've seen videos about Electrolysis, but figured it was too much trouble in the past and just stayed away from it.. decided to get all scientific yesterday and come up with this quick contraption: (don't make fun.. It's my first time!) It's just water, baking soda and electricity.

Rust Annihilator Apparatus Version 1.0

The victim of a rustful crime and the experimentee.. I just put it in without even loosening up the scale rust.

After just 40 minutes of rust-kickin bliss I pulled it out to check on it... Looks a little different eh?

Re: Project 69SWB

I could litterally wipe the rust off to bare metal with my fingers. I took a steel brush to it for barely 3 minutes then dried it off.

I also wanted to see the different between vinegar and this.
NO before shot, but they were covered in rust.
The one on the left.. I put in the Rust Annihilator Apparatus Version 1.0 for 30 minutes..
The one on the right... in vinegar for 24 hours. took a wire brush to both.. Couldn't get the rust off the vinegar version.. slid right of Rust Annihilator Apparatus Version

The results were so amazing to me.. I decided to go BIGGER!

Wow really like the rust remover. Let me know when you have it figured out to do large pieces like a cab with surface rust.
