Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Just checked to see if it was still there. Reorganizing the shop attic for storage, I'm moving my office to my house next week.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Previous owner had put too large of an oil filter which was touching the block hugger headers on the Pontiac 400 big block - I was envisioning them burning a hole in it and dumping my oil on the highway.
I had to push in the filter just to get the filter wrench around it and then installed a shorter one that does not touch the bottom of the headers. What is normally a half hour job including oil change took me 2 hours. I now will have peace of mind in the spring when I drive it. Next I need to change out some suspect coolant hoses and the fuel filter and then will be good to go this spring once I get a seat installed. |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Was given free air cleaner off a 1965 4 BBl 327 Chevelle. Cleaned and painted it, just haven't decided which one to use old school bell style or 65 chevy. I am posting 2 trucks that have similar cleaners. The pics of trucks were off the net. I am leaning more towards the 65 air cleaner.

Finished rebuilding my rear brakes and replacing brake lines. Slow progress, but at least it's progress.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
This wasn't today, a few weeks ago, but I put bed wood in my truck. It's the old wood and rail out of my buddy's 50 panel that he's going to replace.
With a little modification it fit right in there. I had to replace one of the boards but a little oil, grease, and dirt and you can hardly tell now. Not bad for free. And I think the 62 year old wood looks appropriate. I think it came out good. Also I got my seat back. Had it covered with black crushed velvet with a diamond pleat with silver thread. Who want's to cruise?? |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Sadly I do not know, this guy advertises them once in a while, says he gets them from a guy in LA area that builds show cars, they have been mounted, bases were modified to sit on a flat floor, I can find no manufacturers marks on them. 425 for the set.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Any more pictures on this? I always wonder what guys do after they've completed these kids of repairs to stop that surface rust you can clearly see is still inside? Seems like blasting would work good, followed by rattle can undercoater in there, but of course a good epoxy primer would be better.
Any advice appreciated. |

Throw that tape measure away and buy a new one!!! If you don't get rid of it before you get the new one, the new one will get infected!
