Re: Lets see pics of your truck hauling!!

I took this dump trailer to the transfer/recycle center yesterday loaded with construction waste. I crossed the scales @ 11,720 lbs.. and pulled it at 65 mph with no problem. Now, let's see how long that 700R4 can take that.

Re: Lets see pics of your truck hauling!!

My dad built a tow hitch for his truck (now mine) probably in the 1980's. It's never towed anything. I intend to change that. Once my truck is running, I will have the rear wired for trailer lights.

I am in a welding class and I am going to make a "D" ring towing hitch in the next couple of weeks.

Yea, the wood on the sides is just temporary for using tie down straps. In the next week or two we're moving 15 minutes away, (more land) it will take me a few months to move all the "crap" I've gained in the past 30 years in this place. This means I'll be hauling on salted roads. makes me sick just thinking about it...

It takes a big man to admit he needs something longer.

Trucks are for hauling and the longer the bed, the more hauling they can do.

Oh gosh, I'd be worried big time too! Salt nearly wrecked my truck for the first 10 years of its life.

That's up for debate. Your engine looks like a pearl.

I forgot to post this, just a few rocks for the fire pit. I've taken out the plastic bed liner since then. Nevertheless, had to take it easy around the corners. A few tools in my box too Bishops Trucks.

Re: Lets see pics of your truck hauling!!

Here is our 1970 C10 towing our 1960 18' Chris Craft. Both have SBC in them. I bought the truck in May last year and after a few miles around town and close to home to work out a few issues, I put it to work towing. It made 2 300 mile trips with no issues. The last trip was about 150 without the trailer and it got 18.3 mpg. I was watching the gauge all the way thinking it wasn't working properly. When I topped off the tank I couldn't believe the mileage.
