Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Thanks Bret !
I got hooked on these trucks when I was about 18 (53 now ) when a friend of mine got one and I helped him restore it. I've owned a 70 to 72 SWB from 1982 on. This one is #4 and it's going to be my baby.... I loved the others but worked them to death. Gary

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
The 72 Cheyenne I had since i was 15 Now 43 And my wife makes fun of me because if i haul anything in the bed i put a blanket down before i will. I had a friend give me an old model of a 72 chevy truck long stepside truck at the age of 13 . And i fell in love with these trucks.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
"LOL" I wish I still had some of the models I had when I was a kid.... I remember having 2 72 blazers, one green and one blue like your truck, and I had a plow on it.

Thanks for the compliments, Jim and everyone else !
Doing some fishing sounds good to me right now.... Between work being crazy right now and spending all my extra time trying to get as much done as I can on the chassis, I could really use some R&R time...

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
OK... Time for an up-date ! I've been working most every day getting as much as I could done on the motor and chassis prior to the body being put on. Things like all the brake line, fuel lines, trany lines, headers, ( Yes a new set of Headman Elite SS headers ) the passenger side header I had on it wouldn't clear the firewall even with the motor moved forward 2". Carburetor & linkage, speedo cable, power steering, oil dip stick, trany dip stick & TV cable. Oh and the new tires & rims. There's still more I could have done but I'm out of time. The pictures are of the truck in the driveway waiting to be load to go back to the body shop for final assembly.
I can't wait to see this looking like a complete truck !!!!!

Man, I'm jealous. Now, can you see light at the end of the tunnel?
Looks great Gary! The hard work is paying off. Can't wait to see it assembled. Chris

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
I can see the light but there still a lot to do.... Complete wiring, interior, rear drive shaft, re-gear the diffs to 3:73's, emergency brakes, exhaust and lots of little things that will just keep popping up... You know how it goes !!! "LOL"
What will be really cool is seeing it assembled.... Can't wait !!! If things go well I should get it back late next week, but I know Steve's daughter is getting married next weekend, so that could understandably be a snag......

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Thanks Shannon !
Hopefully the bed will be on it this afternoon to get the body lines set-up, then the trim. Once everything is all set there the bed will come back off for the white paint. Can you tell I'm getting excited !!!!

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Yes it's the 2-1/2" lift on the ground, and my truck at this time sits about 3/4" lower on the drives side ! So I'll be doing some adjusting, but not right now, once I have it running & driving.
The bed is on and Steve's working on the moldings, body lines look good. The white on the bed might be done tomorrow !!!!
