Re: 67 long box

That speaker box is looking sweet, can't wait to see it finished. Same thing around here with the snow, we haven't had anything to talk about since December.

The jack stays in the same spot and a new extinguisher for some added safety.

Thanks, I liking the way it's going but the design keeps changing on the fly. It was 60 deg. here and the flowers are coming up. Shop doors open all day.

Re: 67 long box

Nature of the beast, normally takes twice as long as it should for me to build something. Been so nice out I got started on yard work and haven't made it out to the shop to work on the truck.

Re: 67 long box

Almost ready to cover it. Lots of sanding to contour the three ribs but it's all worth it, then cover it all with the seat.

Re: 67 long box

I got it all covered and on the first try every piece. Nicest piece of work I've ever done. You don't know what you can do till you try. It still needs hinges to level the doors and they are being made tomorrow.

Re: 67 long box

All installed and it looks great. I finished the wiring and it sounds great. A+ job. I cut the hinges from blank piano hinge.

Re: 67 long box

Perfect fit easy access to the panels and plenty of room when open. Another upgrade checked off the list.

Re: 67 long box

made up some rear fender supports as the old deflector plates don't fit. Had to cover the power fuse it looked to new and just didn't look right.

Re: 67 long box

Working on the door logo and I'm liking it. I picked up the pulleys to hook up the A/C, sand blasted and painted.

Re: 67 long box

Pulleys painted and ready. I found two sway bars today, couldn't pass up a deal. I ordered a new set of grease able bushings and new front springs. I'm not happy with the ride.

Re: 67 long box

Very nice work as usual. Still one of my favorite trucks. Question- is that rear sway bar something you made and I missed it, or a modified one? Looking at your pick, I think I could make it work with my c20 leafs....

Thanks man , it's my own design and built from scratch. I based it on the Hotchkis rear sway, but it didn't cost 1000 bucks.

I have the ability but not a lot of money and I hate paying for a name. I can say I built my truck. It's back out at the end of the month, can't wait. You could have one fabbed up by a welding shop very easily. Some Chromalloy round bar with 2x3 HHS tube, and the sway bar bushing kit is 64 impala front , but that's my way of thinking.
Cheers Derek

Thanks, it started off just fixing the rust holes in the cab to being a complete resto-mod but I'm real happy.

The all important cup holder, custom made as usual. Now to install the seat and bolt it to the front seat steel bar.

Re: 67 long box

Cup holder looks retro, can't have a plastic one. Same vinyl as the dash, door panels, speaker box and sun visors.

Thanks I'm liking this idea. Just another custom touch. It has some structural stuff to work out but ya I'm liking it.
