Not those exact valve covers, but I did find these.

Re: The Super Duper Haggis Hauler

Thanks John, that's the very one's.

So I asked by technical support (my 17 year old son) which he preferred ie these or the one's with Chevrolet engraved on and got the usual shrug of the shoulders and the inevitable "eithers fine"! Lot of use he is!!!!!

Re: The Super Duper Haggis Hauler

Guy's I'm after some opinions/suggestions/advice.

I fitted the instrument bezel tonight and I'm not happy with it. First up I'm not sure I actually like the colour contrast. What do you think?

More importantly I'm not happy with the fit and all the gaps.

I though I could live with this but I cant. I know its and perhaps I shouldn't be looking for perfection but I'm going to be spending a lot of time staring at that dash and I'm not going to be happy.

Has anyone out there successfully filled these gaps and if they have was the bezel still removable? Assuming the bezel was permanently fixed in thanks to bondo, fiberglass or even steel can an instrument panel still be fitted with the steering column in place? I guess its no biggie to remove the column if I had to remove the instruments but its part of the decision process.

Opinions??????

Re: The Super Duper Haggis Hauler

PS the instrument panel will probably be charcoal grey to black as I think I'm just buying one from LMC off the shelf. So I'm thinking the blue is wrong!

Re: The Super Duper Haggis Hauler

Anyone in the UK (in the first instance) got a glovebox door, in good condition they don't need? Also I need the rear window channel for the drivers side door.

Glovebox door needs to be for a 62. I think the channel will be OK up to a 67.

Re: The Super Duper Haggis Hauler

That's a bummer. Was hoping that was a common part. Not much chance getting a 60-63 door over here. Not to worry. I'm not in a hurry so I'll see if I can track one down.

Re: The Super Duper Haggis Hauler

Was it Perry Como who said "its beginning to look a lot like Christmas"?

Well it is

1st half of a FedEx shipment arrived today:

And those 6 boxes contained

Couldn't resist a trial fit!

Think I prefer the blue filter element. I'll keep the white as the spare.

2nd half of the FedEx shipment cleared customes today so I wil lhave it tomorrow and another shipment will also arrive tomorrow.

As Noddy Holder would say "Its Christmas"

PS Pete, thanks for the heads up on those Dolphin gauges. They look the dug's danglies!

Merry Christmas to all.

I'm not so sure Ian. If my wife finds out just how much this all cost I'm going to be on the very naughty list. Hell I'll be on the divorce list!

The instruments look nice Martin and the wiring loom will save some hassle. The one I bought has far more circuits than I'm going to need but I figure it would be better to have too many than too few and it only cost an extra $15

Bill, if I can offer you a little advice for these situations,

When your wife asks how much you've spent, remember always tell the truth......................Even if you have to make it up

Re: The Super Duper Haggis Hauler

I learned that a long time ago Ian. I once made the mistake of telling my wife what my nice new shiny (well matt black) AR15 cost! That was a mistake. So much so I applied for a firearm dealers license and to this day every gun I buy is "for stock"!

If I die and she sells my guns for what Ive told her they cost she will be out a fortune!

Not a scenario many in the UK will recognise these days, but I bet there are a few of our friends across the pond that understand completely! And if it its not guns its the same with cars.

Though never trust your then 8 year old son to keep a secret from your wife that the parcels that were delivered when you were out in fact radio gear for you military Land Rover and not whatever it was you had told his mother was arriving. I got it in the ear for that one as well, though I remind him of that every opportunity I get, not to get back you understand (Aye right!) but to remind him of the lesson. It could come in handy in future life!

Re: The Super Duper Haggis Hauler

I wanted to finish the year with some colour on the cab and I managed that that today with the first coat of Old English White on the interior.

I hope to finish the last of the exterior body work (a little filling) and get the who cab painted before I go back to work on the 9th (though she who must be obeyed has me out kitchen shopping again next week 0 small price to pay for the truck I want!).

A Very happy New Year to everyone and may 2017 bring us all everything we want - truck wise at least!

I'll pour a large one of Scotland's finest at midnight tonight and toast everything truck!

All the very best Bill
