Re: finally come

Cool trailer one like that is on my list to rebuild. Also air ride so it sits on the ground with my truck.

Re: finally come

Safety Chains go over the receiver in front of the hitch then hook onto the eyelets. This way if the hitch comes undone it doesn't dive into the ground.
You'll have to paint the same colors as the Burb. Your not looking for hard to find NOS pieces for the trailer are you?

well its lisa's project, with me being silent(yeah right) ima just restore/repair items to working condition, the interior will get a full redo. its gonna be same color as the burb, but shiny aluminimum on top and same body color stripe as the burb with white on the bottom. thanks on the chain location i wasnt sure which was best, glad it didnt come apart. any other tips we should know, or better yet come by and walk us through. we'll cook!!!

How is your armrest holding up after painting it? My paint is all cracking on mine, so now I have to figure out how to either re-do it, or strip it.
I cleaned it real good, and prepped it, but it didn't hold. Hope you had better luck.

Re: finally come

They make a product that it is a plastic adhesive helper. I used it for painting all the hard plastic parts in my cab and it helps the paint to bond to the material better.

Re: finally come

I will look into that. I'm thinking the flex from resting my arm on it, and pulling on it had something to do with it as well.

Yes the house should be the first inline. Fun new skills. Nothing like learning something new, and doing it correctly. Enjoy--------------
