Re: project (sweet pea)
hey, excellent build!
What kind of welding equipment do you use? I've never welded before, but I've got some rust through on my stepside's wheel wells and a small hole through the floor of the cab that I'd like to fix myself... |

Re: project (sweet pea)
I have a Matco mig welder i bought a few years ago. I think its a Lincoln in (matco) clothing.........Been a great welder. Never had any problems,or complaints in the 2-3 years i have owned it.....And it will weld about anything i have ever tried to..

Re: project (sweet pea)
What amperage is yours? I have a Matco 160 amp 220V, it welds heavy metals great, but I have to fight through sheet metal. I was thinking about buying a cheap 110V unit for lighter stuff.

Re: project (sweet pea)
Mike i actually have both......Although i rarely ever break out the 220.....There is not a need......And i even wired my garage for 220 just for that welder and my compressor......The 110 works awesome......Never had any issues with it and i have welded 1/4 to 3/8s plate steel with plenty of penetration....

Re: project (sweet pea)
Few small Updates........And pics........Got both doors blocked today and re-primed.......I am going to prime and block again....When i block the whole truck....I am also going to (re-edge) them......I didnt like the way the edging looked the first time....So i redid alot of the work i already did...And i got my trans cooler mounted and mocked up, for a final time......Just need to get it ready to spray and im good.........Plans are this week to move onto the fenders and get them ready, they just need a small amount of work..From tweaking them to fit (these) doors...There are also a few dings and door dents i need to take care of.

Re: project (sweet pea)
Well i played hooky today and took a vacation day....Even though i was still at work.lol.....Anyways got my cowl panel blasted (with walnut shells) got it all cleaned up and a coat of epoxy on it....Have a few small dents to fix and smooth where i shaved the anetana <spell hole.....Got both doors etched primed, sealed and painted..edged ...I had to do some work to them as there was a ton of little things that just would not fly with how i am trying to do things. i bowed out this time and asked a (real) painter at work to spray them....This Water Born is a little out of my league and i have yet to master it....i still have the passenger fender to do and get the hood ready....And then the long process of blocking begins yet again.......Anyways here are a ton of pics........
