Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Can't believe I have to make this update but it's not going to be finished for the show. With a major setback every day there just isn't time. Monday I noticed one of the front brake lines had broken when I moved it out to put the booster on. Also two hours spent dealing with a messed up harmonic balancer and bolt Yesterday it took me over 2 hours to get that line off my truck and the front lines off my 70 frame since I knew they were good. Bmerdoc got it on tonight and we started bleeding the brakes. Over an hour and a half later with fluid and air able to get to all fittings but not to the wheel cylinders....we stop to do something else...
Got the driveshaft/carrier bearing installed. Noted the rear is a little out of square but frame checks true so I have to adjust the panhard bar an 1/8" and move the rear a hair on the u-bolts to get it straight.....no big deal.... Nick goes back to the front brakes and takes off the rubber lines to see what's going on....and the driver's one falls apart....it was toast...glad I wasn't driving when it split!!! So...with everything combined and the fact that there is a ton to do and I want to redo a lot of the brake components.....the meet deadline will be missed.... Still going to work on the truck of course and get it finished up asap...just no more 20 hr days working on it for now.....more family time and more work on project #1 starting early next week. Have a lot going on the next two days anyways so now I will have some more family time and be able to meet other commitments including guys on here patiently waiting for pictures or parts. Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
I want to apologize for those who have rushed product to me (truckseats especially) and to bmerdoc for all the time he put in and won't get to display the fruits of that labor this time...
I will still be at the meet....just no truck On the bright side....my interior is really going to come together by the weekend. All the materials have come in. I disassembled my visors and my mother is sewing them in matching saddle vinyl. She also did the dash pad to match with a french seam. It's not perfect and she's not happy with it, but I am and it's very nice still. The lower door panels I had made are COOL! And the headliner is awesome also and I will be recovering door panels to match too....should be really nice! Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Some other recent progress...
Steering wheel turned out very nice with just enough patina... Same with the dome light (used) And was able to use the transmission lines off proj#1 as they were ordered for a th350 and it has a th400... Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
No problem at all here. Those things happen when you're building trucks. The important thing is to make sure the truck is safe for you and your family. This just means we can watch the build a little longer!

I was planning to finally get all the paperwork done and plates today so I still did that so itKs ready to go when I get my first test drive. My 67 plates with patina....I have two pair of sequentially numbered never been used plates but wanted the plates to match the truck exterior patina. Hopefully I end up with a good mix of patina with a nice interior, underhood, and clean (and safe ) chassis... Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Thanks, picked up the seat today....it looks great! It's stuck in my van right now with no way to put it in the truck because of space issues...
Tomorrow I plan to weld the one spot I found on my inner kick panel and then move things so I can install the seat and other interior bits... Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
At the parts store now hopefully getting some brake parts after leaving my grandparent's house...helped with some car issues then hung a shelf in the laundry room....might not get to the truck today now....but family first and if I was still rushing for the show I would have regretfully turned them down so things work out for a reason
