Re: Thelonerifes 72 stepper
I think mine were polished in the past but they did look a lot better when I hit em. I only had a problem finding clean rags to remove the paint from the fins.lol.I thought one would do it. Wrong. 3

Re: Thelonerifes 72 stepper
I polished the cab paint divider trim. It still has some small scratches in it but is good for a driver. Put it on too.

Re: Thelonerifes 72 stepper
I took the truck to my friend for the rear drum work. I don't do drums. Hes also going to put a vaccuum on my vintage air system and hopefully there won't be any leaks. Then gas it up.
I sanded the ls6 oilpan and painted it. ![]() ![]()

Re: Thelonerifes 72 stepper
from what I keep hearing it will fit. I won't know for sure until I get the old one off. If it doesn't work out it'll be going on the wall.

Re: Thelonerifes 72 stepper
I had it on a 402 in my 70 C10 a couple years ago. Fit fine for my application. I'm sure it'll be the same.

If it won't fit Chuck, it sounds like a good excuse to go buy a LS motor

I'm too poor for that! I have to get back to cleaning those heads up. I'm getting lazy in my old age.

Re: Thelonerifes 72 stepper
I've got the truck back from my mechanic friend. I now have brakes and cold air. He put on a new proportioning valve. He informed me my 2 bbl was not that good since the linkage for the choke is kinda jerry rigged. I am going to change it back to a 4 bbl. I have to pick up an intake from 5150 (Bryan) next time I'm in Nashville. Heres a pick of the prop. valve. I know big whoop.

Re: Thelonerifes 72 stepper
I wanted to see how cool she would get so I put a thermometer in the vent, turned it on high and shut the door. It held at 42 till I opened the door to snap a pic and it went up to 44. So I thinkk I'll be cool enough. If not I'll turn the adjusting knob on the evaporator unit.

Re: Thelonerifes 72 stepper
I have been driving it and have noticed a vibration in the rear@ about 55mph I think it may be my driveshaft. I swapped wheels and tires with my green truck and its still there. Its good up till then though

Re: Thelonerifes 72 stepper
Hey Chuck...sorry to take a step back, but I got a line on some finned aluminum edelbrok valve covers and air cleaner cover.....thinking I want to do what you did (are your covers aluminum?).....If so, did you sand blast and paint these, then polish the fins??? or did you polish the fins, paint, then wipe the fins??
Thanks
