Underside of hood will be body color. I purchased a cowl at the Auto Fair in NC last year, no more ugly antenna.

Back in post 120 you showed your frame dimpled for the power steering box. I searched the general information threads for a step-by-step, or helpful hints, on doing this with no luck. It appears you did the "cut out the flat part and weld in a pipe" method. Is that right? That method seems pretty straightforward.

If I do the "heat it up and hammer it in" method, is there any reason to worry about the area around the bolt holes moving? Do you think it's necessary to bolt up a plate inside the frame temporarily to hold that part flat?

EDIT: Now that I've looked at that pic again--it appears you slit the top and bent the side in (in other words, did not weld in a curved piece). Is there no need to slit frame where the bottom of the "dimple" is?

I heated it up cherry red and used a big hammer. I didn't heat up the top and bottom flange so I think it will be fine. If it cracks I'll weld it up and reinforce it then, I doubt that it will crack... If your worried about it just go ahead and plate it.

The shop is moving along at a good pace.

White parts and interior are painted. They painted everything high gloss, not excited about that but it does look good.

I had a glove box door painted to match, I still have the original one.

I'll have to see if the front bumper fit goods, if it does it still needs work. It has dents and rust pitting. Hope the high gloss don't make it look cheap.

Thanks its been a long one for sure. I'm back on it, I had to sell stuff to fund the body shop payments. It wasn't an easy decision for as I hardly ever pay people to do stuff for me.

It won't be on the road anytime soon but I would like to have all the sheet metal bolted on and lined up before this fall.

Are you doing light blue exterior, with the metallic blue interior? If so, that’s how my ‘67 C-30 came.

Yes that's how it came from the factory. Body shop said that's weird, Lol.

The 67’s were unique like that. I added up all the up small differences that 67’s had one time, but I don’t remember the number. I know the key switch, vent wing window latches, window cranks, floor vent pulls, the ashtray, the rear view mirror, textured glove box door, and of course the side markers not being there were all differences on 67’s only.

I didn't check it out, honestly I get a little over whelmed looking at the progress on my truck. It's a lot to take in and check out. They sure are moving along at a good pace. They sent me this picture this afternoon...

I just started working on it again last month. Took some pieces to get PC, trying to get the back end all together so I can set the bed back on.

Driver door edge lacks paint and looks like bare metal in spots. The other door and fenders lack paint where they back taped. Also unfinished body work, spots on the cab corner and that spot on the firewall. I have a heater delete I was going to use but you'll see the unfinished body work on the firewall...

I bent the cab corners back, they could use some hammer and dolly work.

On a positive note, I've been working on the rear sway bar and brake lines. I have mostly new parts for the rear brakes.
