Re: Daverods 52

Must have been when I was doing my 66. The difference between the kit I put on my 66 and this kit are huge. Just in the size difference. Still looking for some rims. I just want somthing that will work for now. The stuff I have now is the right height 29" I just need to find some rims with a 0 off set and 4 75 spacing? All the junk yards just list the rims by make and model.

Re: Daverods 52

I guess for the price I paid I got what I wanted. I wanted cheap, dirty and easy. I need to get my bed on so I can see what kinda rims I need. Mounted the bags and made it go up and down. Bags clear by about a 1/2". Put my cam in my engine and blasted and painted my oil pan.

I'm thinking the saddles weld to the axle? Still need to mount my panhard bar. Not going to do to much till I get my bed and cab back on.

Re: Daverods 52

I would weld them. That way your axle cant twist in the u-bolts.

Re: Daverods 52

Mine was a 3 link kit from *****************, with bag behind and under brackets. Basically bag over axel. The bags are just out of the way. I really like suicidedoors kits, hey just take too damn long to make. 4-6 weeks is the wait time. If your in no hurry they are nice. If you don't plan on using the s10 gas tank i would go with a universal 4 link. All forward facing. I wouldn't go 2 link unless i had to. They are cheap and easy and may work, but they do mess with the pinion angle. If you ntice all the cover trucks and the trucks that have those never get driven. So they don't even know if its reliable or not.

Re: Daverods 52

KP's Triangle 4 link for s-10 works perfect on a s-10 frame.

$599.00 and you put your bags over the axle.

Re: Daverods 52

I guess it all depends what you want to do. I don't think the pinion angle will effect me much. I'm going to set it up for my ride height. I'lll always be at that height or on the ground. I had to wait 4 weeks for this kit. That seems to be the norm. I'll put this one to test because I'm going to drive it a lot. If it sucks or breaks I'll change it. If once a year I have to put new bushings in the arms no biggie.

Re: Daverods 52

I'm guessing my cab needs to go back more? Guess I have to get rid of the horn things. Don't know if I need to notch the cross member up to clear the drive line? Got some different wheels, just stock 2x4 s10 don't know if the tires are going to work out yet. Put my heads on the engine.

Re: Daverods 52

I like the new wall mount. Are you gonna run a raised gas tank crossmember? I've decided I'm gonna run a sd 5 link, but I'm building it myself. I talked to Jason today and I got to order it all monday. He's got my LCA's for me.

Mounted one running board. Took half the day to figure it out. Set my valves and put the intake on. Pick up a old fridge for my next paint project.

Re: Daverods 52

Love that two tone, I was actually just thinking that I want to do a metallic brown body with a creme or white top, similar to this but a little more pop. I love the patina trucks the most, but ya gotta love the two tones.

love that fridge too, I want that.

also I noticed as well, but not sure if you moched up the engine with rad yet or not. But on your cab it is before the rear cab mount. On my longbed s-10 frame, I made my own cab mounts but the mounted
right in the area that the rear mount was. So to me, it might look like the cab needs to come back. Not sure with your particular set up or not. also did you take out about 5 inches off the back of the frame?

Re: Daverods 52

Only had my bag mounts tacked on. When I put my bed on it was to much weight. Blew both mounts off the frame.BANG BANG. Luck I had a couple jack stands under the bed. Bent the mounts up. Beat them into submission and welded them back on for good. Hope I don't have to move them. Have to get some 205/75r15 for the back. The ones I got at the junk yard are too wide. 10"
