Re: Rods 57
Thanks Kim and Jim, I got the sides from Mar-K as well and they are really nice. I welded in the back section this weekend but have not taken pics yet
Yes my son in law welds great, I don't even try on aluminum. On the spring question I went to a spring shop and looked up the three sizes as well. i had and keep the lowest spring rate ones. the height was stock but i didn't look at that I was looking at the compression rate. the truck of my bro in laws is the same rate and the tires will just fit under the fronts. If I got any lower the tires rub when you turn. |

Re: Rods 57
Took some pictures of the end of the bedsides where I welded in the corners. Pictures are not great they make it look bad.

Re: Rods 57
Wow didn't think it had been that long but it has. I have been doing the boring sand and sand and sand. I put the brake lines in today, but thats all, no pics just dust and cold in Idaho. I am part of a really great car club here in Idaho. the guy who started it in 1964 still runs it. anyway late Nov a young guy here with Down Syndrome got his three wheel bike stolen by some jerk. So we all got together, bought him a new one. We had it Pin striped first. then we delivered it to his Apartment. here are the pictures.

Good on ya for the great deed you boys did for that young man. It warms my heart to see such great things being done for those that deserve it

Re: Rods 57
Ogre, Dubie, Bam and everyone thanks for the comments. We did what car guys do, we took care of another guys ride. After the bike we took him for a ride in one guys SBC powered 34 coupe. We loved it more than he did. Just got an update on one other thing, we are putting together a show in june to benifit the local veterans, We already have 200 cars committed and an entire strip mall gave us their parking lot, two police drag cars, its going to be huge....

Nice looking brake lines.
That spot on the cab was originally filled with lead. Kim |

Re: Rods 57
yes it was, I found a crack and the lead had lifted and it rusted under it. easy fix but crazy how bad the fit is underneath the lead.
