Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
you could even make a hideaway underfloor partition under the frontpart to cleanly store stuff like jack wheelwrench jumpercables and assortment of tools bits bobs and thingamajigs if the space between the bedfloor and the double floor is high enough you might even be able to put the spacesaver sparetire under there
funny thing about murphies law; flat tires allways happen when you got like tree quarts of firewood stacked in the bed the tools and sparetire and jack would be under the load

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
Are you running spindles up front? Any other front drop besides the bags?

to do it right, get a 3 inch spindle and 2700 airbags. you'll have a great ride, it would take half the air to raise the front and your tires wont wear down on the inner part because your camber would be close to factory. my camber corrects all the way, when i air it up to ride hieght. right now my focus is on my new project. a 78 blazer 2wd.

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
Thanks for the info, man.
Really wanting to drop mine. No interest in taking my brakes apart and having to take a sledge to get everything off. But yeah, I could see how bigger bags would ride nicer and a drop spindle might be worth it. Great truck you've built there.

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
i might be able to find them cheaper to when i go to a agracultural kindah store or a trailerbuilder too , the only place i checked sofar was a semi truck accessoryshop i know there here somewhere
i used to mount quite a few of them some 20 or so years ago under trucks im still kindah in the air about the work to make them fit , the sloshtubz are basicly plug and play but there big and prolly expensive to schip to europe

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
i could do trailer fenders and i have looked at them at tractor supply co. they are 40 bucks each. the money doesnt bother me...what bothers me is...if i were to put them on...weld them in and prime them...then what? the bed liner was sprayed in a decade ago...unless i get it re-bedlined it wouldnt match. i kind of like the extreme look it gives to onlookers..

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
Might could fab up covers for the bed and inner fender holes. Paint them to match the truck and bolt them in. The contrast might look pretty cool.

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
im still thinking about doing a 4 inch raised floor that has hinges on the cab side of the bed. kind of like a tonnou cover but diamond plate aluminum....and let it dull so it wouldnt stand out so much or maybe paint that and the covers body color. and maybe even integrate covers into the hinged floor....

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
i think it would be better to just have the daimondplate powdercoated flat grey , bare aluminium turns intoo white powder over time after its dulled its kindah like rust besides it reacts to the metal frame it will be bolted on
