About a UPS truck full of new parts, countless hours, and several busted knuckles later. I'm happy to call it mine. Waiting on new front end pieces, autometers are still sitting on my tool box, just scored some original fender tags. So maybe one day it'll be "done."

^ if someone like me is searching google like a mad man, hopefully they find that information useful. I looked, read, and googled imaged wheels on these trucks forEVER trying to find a backspace that would work. I wanted tires flush with fender openings, and that's exactly what I got. I saw another member on this site, or another. He had this setup, but only 2 pictures. I rolled the dice and came out a winner I think. I will say the inside of the wheel lip is CLOSE to the tierod end, but not touching. Zero rubbing so far. I had the tire place use stick on wheel weights when they balanced them. I had stickies on my other truck and never had a problem with them.
What size lift are you running on your truck? And do you have any pictures from the side angle?

Funny you ask that because I looked thru google images and here for hours looking at trucks running that tire size. Almost all of them had a lift of some sort. The other truck I saw with this setup, at stock height, the tire looked more stuffed. My truck does have a 1" BL, was there when I got it, so I left it. I tried getting some fender height measurements from guys, but had no luck on that.
However; I think they're factory springs front & rear. They look factory, but don't have any negative arch, even with the 454, they're just flat. So maybe somewhere in it's life, someone may have added the 1900lb type spring? Because IIRC they're still a 3 pack spring, but don't quote me on that. I'll try and take some pictures from the side on flat ground for you. I have some, but yard is sloped and it plays tricks on how the truck looks.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Long Beds Part II

Here's my '87 V20 Camper Special. One pic is the day the original owner (that's him in the pic, not me) handed me the keys of this 51k mile original. The other pic is after I did a few mods to make it more to my taste. I put dual exhaust on it, removed camper shell, added tool box, more aggressive treads, powder coated wheels, and tinted the windshield.

The interior is dark charcoal, dual tanks, 350/TH400, and tons of original documentation. He was a farmer, so he stayed away from what he considered an unreliable over drive transmission. Also opted for roll up windows and manual locks. And I love the fact that he special ordered this Silverado with a vinyl seat instead of the velour. He said, "Why the hell do I want velour seats in my truck?"

I've been driving it every day since I brought it home.

Hoping these pics work and are what you were lookin for. I haven't been anywhere in the truck, so I just took some at the house. Truck looks raked in pics far worse than it is in real life.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Long Beds Part II

I have spent too much on this truck to have the salt eat it up again our township has a salt quota I think , our roads are white with salt .you check on Kijiji all the good trucks are west nothing here anymore , I used this for plowing snow for two years , it now has a big block and 373 gears 800 eldebrock and performer air gap manifold , we usually have little snow here in southwestern Ontario so I save this truck for my daily driver in spring to fall and park my 2011 Sierra then , I built it now for local tractor pulls and it works awesome , also found out you DONOT use a g80 Eaton locker for that , big bang theory ! But any how that's my story ,everyone has there's

454 gets about 28 l/100 ,would cost a fortune in gas for plowing anyhow it had a tired 350 when plowing

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Long Beds Part II

Once I get a few more builds done for others will build a 70 454 I have for my truck, every truck I build is always a big block, same as any muscle cars that I have built, just love the torque but mpg is never great but most aren't a daily so may as well be a big block right.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Long Beds Part II

I found a picture of my '78 which I bought new and put a fiberglass cap on then had it painted with a air brush mural. I had the truck for 10 years, living in the rustbelt you know the rest of the story. That was a good truck.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Long Beds Part II

I just picked this '86 up after selling my '70 C10. It's got 77K original miles and a super clean body with just surface rust. The power plant is a 350 from a late 70's Z28 with a 3 speed on the floor so it has plenty of power for my needs. I have some good plans to make her a sweet truck for doing chores around the house. I am going to get all of the undercarriage cleaned up and undercoated over the winter and then when the weather warms up I plan on painting her up with a nice two-tone look and spray in Raptor bed liner.

Nice trucks, I have a 87 Chevy and am needing to replace the heater blowing motor, would you happen to know where it's located and the best way to change it with out taking the whole dash off? Thanks
