Re: My winter project

Working on the rearview mirror, I need to get new glass. Is there a place that reconditions original glass.

Lightbulb Re: My winter project

The GM part number for this 10" inside rear view mirror is 918583. There are some very good repros on the market like OER and Counterpart.

That glass is special for those mirrors. Not aware of anyone restoring them.

Re: My winter project

I'm not sure if it's worth the work but repaired. I removed undercoat then a CLR bath and did repairs. When it warms up I can prime/paint

Re: My winter project

If it entertains you, then it was worth the effort, did I mention that I hate rust

Good work on the build

Surprised you didn’t have more rust under the battery area

Re: My winter project

I finally got the new lower side trim kit. it's Counter Parts brand and looks pretty good. It came with all the clips but I plan stick it on with trim tape.

Re: My winter project

Inner fenders came off great, surprised rust wasn’t under the battery

Great build…….

Re: My winter project

I washed the Blazer for the first time since getting it back together and in true Blazer fashion it leaked a little at the top of the doors and right side at the hatch. I think the top needs to move forward a 1/4" or so. Now exhaust and tires should take care of the list.

Thanks Jim. I'm very happy to get this far, it would be tuff duty (for me) to build one now.
