Re: 1968 C10 Stepside Restoration Project
Are you going back with a stock height?

Re: 1968 C10 Stepside Restoration Project
I took a bit of a break from the truck and decided to do some cleaning and polishing on the MGB. I need to also replace the fuel pump (I have a new SU solid state pump) and rebuild the SU HS4 carbs. Not looking too bad for a 54 year old car.

Re: 1968 C10 Stepside Restoration Project
So I made a bunch of purchases to get things jump-started again. I have the gearing and posi for the 12 bolt, I will be going from a 4.11 to a 3.08. This should make highway cruising and fuel economy much nicer. Seeing how I have a Muncie M20 it should work out fairly nice. I also got a new external heater box because the old one was broken, and an Edelbrock Performer intake with the oil fill tube...I want that 'old-school' look under the hood. I also picked up new brake and fuel lines, a clutch slave piston kit, all new rear brake components, front disc brake conversion kit with stock height spindles, an E-Stopp electronic parking brake, new ramhorn exhaust manifolds, externally regulated 100 amp alternator, and I have a 1964-1977 SBC 350 4-bolt main on the way. So I hope to have a rolling chasis by the end of February providing it is not too cold outside. There is also new hardware and more...
I already have a new radiator. fan shroud, several NOS voltage regulators, heater blower fan motor, and a bunch of other parts I have already forgotten about. |

Re: 1968 C10 Stepside Restoration Project
Sorry I have not posted in a while. We have a building project that I am working as the general contractor; hiring folks to do things like A/C, drywall, flooring kitchen and bath cabinets and countertops, etc. We are installing the baseboards and crown molding, lights, and door/window trim...and do not forget paint.
Should be another few weeks and it will be done and I will be back on the 68 C10 again. Still trying to get this truck finished this year, just not sure when that will be. Thanks for your patience. |

Re: 1968 C10 Stepside Restoration Project
For most of us these trucks come last. You'll get there, great work so far.
