It was definitely nice to meet you and your wife. Plenty more apples! I like your truck, it drew a crowd too! You guys are welcome anytime.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

always wondered how steep some of the mountain roads i travel are, so i bought a cheap inclinometer.
thought most of the FSR roads i hit were around 20 degrees, seems like most of them are in the 25-35 degree range

there are steeper hills, like this one, gauge ran out of numbers at 40, so my kid used his phone, was at 48 degrees, could feel the tires slip every now and then

some side hilling too-around 20-25 degrees.
only thing i wish was the gauge was illuminated-need to hit it with a lite at night to see it...

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

They say dirt spills out to 45*. So that steeper incline was about the rock. That's 3* more vertical than horizontal, so I bet your rig would be scratchin' some. That angle can get hairy going down. My sister's road up to her cabin has a spot that is really steeper than a road should be. If you do lose momentum and start sittin' & spinnin', backing down can get you in trouble. Brakes are equally ineffective

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

i had to run to town yesterday for some parts for my drainage project.there's usually an eagle or 2 sitting on top of this power pole, especially at low tide when they can see lunch swimming by.yesterday there was only one so i stopped for a few pictures although too far away.we have a bunch of eagle around here.they are beautiful to watch.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

i was digging some trenches around the house for some drainage and went over to the yard of the fella who owns the outfit i drive for when he needs a little extra dump truckin done,to get some gravel.on my way out i came across this pair of lonely old trucks wasting away in the woods off one of the roads.one had to come from Maine to die a slow miserable death in the woods here in Nova Scotia??

thanks guys,i appreciate the kind words.this truck is,without a doubt, the best one of these i've ever had.it's making me look smarter than i really am(grade 3 was the hardest 4 years of my life)low miles hauling a camper and 25 years in storage saved the truck but didn't do the mechanical parts any good, but i'd rather rebuild all that, than rebuild the body.we've used it a fair bit this year.1 indoor show, several outdoor shows and Friday night cruises for coffee.never anything in the bed,her working days are over.time to get back to my other project now.take care, thanks again.Greg

Cool and rainy in the Ozarks this past weekend. Wife and I enjoyed some time in a cabin up in north AR. Took this photo off the back deck of the restaurant where we ate dinner. Clouds and mist were breaking up over the valley.

You must know it as well as I, Mr. Boog! Good eye. Right in the other Larry's back yard, so to speak.

Like many people I dread the ending of long warm dry days on end and the coming of winter once the season starts to change. But I know fall has some of the best weather and we get used to cooler weather once it's here. I like it all. If I go to the mountains and the weather is wet and cool, I get to see life in the mountains on a cold wet day. It's all good!

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I think every day is a great day, good weather or not. Some are just better than others. But I am thankful for every day I am able to wake up.

Amen, Boog. The older I get, the deeper my appreciation for -- well, for everything.

Is that pic from a Wheels Of Time show? I know back in the day when they were starting out they used to have a teeter totter like that at their shows.

I remember that. This show is the one in Cumberland, MD at the Allegheny County Fairgrounds, Western Maryland Street Rods Roundup. It happens on Labor Day weekend and this year was the 50th. Cars from all over the four state mountain area come. They hold a few games like this. My favorite event. More of a good times gathering than a show
