Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Got bored sitting around Saturday so starting doing vinyl stripes on my Equinox.

Sunday I smoked some chicken drumsticks and thighs. I did some with BBQ sauce and some without.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Got 4 injections in my feet . Arthritis is a real pain in the butt. I occasionally have a bad day but last week my left foot swelled up around the big toe by yesterday I couldn’t even walk 20 feet . Nothing that surgery can repair so it’s injections and some new orthotics and special (expensive) shoes that health insurance don’t cover .

That's my guess too. Or a 69 GTX if we want to split hairs.

BITD I had a 68 Road Runner. 383/4sp/8.75 posi rear. Damn I wish I still had that. I do still however have an original old school Road Runner license plate although I did refinish it.

Had a little nice weather yesterday so last night I did some more work on my Equinox stripes. Hoping to finish up tonight after work.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I built a 383 6 pak engine for a buddy with a 68 or 9 Road Runner. We got it fired off on the day John Lennon got killed. Never will forget it. Silver with a flat black hood. God rest his soul, My friend has been gone for years.

We have a winner!

I “finished” the car in 2001, it had some minor oil leaks and generally started showing its age. I resealed the engine and replaced a bunch of mismatched and incorrect hardware. I also rebuilt the alternator, wiper motor, power steering pump, fuel pump and oil pump. Everything else got repainted, powder coated or ceramic coated. My goal is to finish it up by May so it’s ready for the road for the summer season.

I always wanted a GTX. They were tough to find even back in the day. I can't recall ever seeing one for sale back when I grew up. I almost bought a 70 Roadrunner but got a 68 Charger R/T instead because it had the 440. I wish that I had it today. I paid a whopping $650 for it. (those were the days) I should have bought the Roadrunner. It was in better shape and it was only $600. But it had an ugly vinyl top and a bad paint job. Orange peel up the wazoo.

When I sold the Charger it had plenty of tread on the front tires and none on the back. That car could do a burnout like nobody's business.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

The answer is going to be the same almost every day, working on the car. The to-d list is getting shorter but there's still a lot to do.

Tonight, I worked on getting the front suspension reassembled...

I rebuilt the starter in my mid-engine FI 350 Corvair. Found a broken spring on the bendix shaft.

Thanks. I originally bought the vinyl when I did the same stripes on a 2021 Grand Cherokee L I had. The GC was a Grey metallic color and the vinyl color went well. Just got lucky it works with my Equinox also.

I see a Super Bee like this one almost every day on the way home from work. Would love to have it if I had that kind of money.

A 1970 Superbee. One year only. I love that body style. I'd love to have one too but the prices on those old Mopar's have gone crazy.

I keep thinking that I'd like to get another Charger like the one I had as a kid. But then I see the prices and think...Eh..No. Not going to happen.

I had the Magnum 500's on my car just like that.

I went to a trade show today. A local lumber yard puts it on every winter (except the last three) at the county fairgrounds. Product reps with free pencils, bluegrass band, and good food! And I end up seeing old faces. Did I mention the pencils? Christmas all over again!

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I sat around an empty house today waiting on the internet guy. Turns out he remembered me. He asked. You're the guy with all the cars'

Yup. That would be me.

I was going to take down some more ugly drapes but my DeWalt decided it needed a vacation. So that didn't happen. At least I got the purple ones out before it croaked. It's on the charger now. Who get's purple drapes? They are resting comfortably in the garbage can now. Hopefully the landfill wont consider them hazardous waste.

I drove my Jag over there. I think the tires are too wide. It tracks like crazy. My 70 Mustang did the same thing. I'm going back to stock wheels. See if that helps.

But that 350 really scoots. My wife was following me in the Jeep and I left her in the dust. I love that car. Nothing beats Chevy power.

If I had "F it all" kind of money I would definitely have a few original Hemi cars in my stable. Wish I would have never sold my 68 Road Runner.
