Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Hello every one, this is new to me I don't even know how to start my own thread yet. Any way I have a 69 short stepside. I am interested in shaving the door handles and have remote. Has any one seen any threads on the subject. Thanks

Heck, I can't even keep the darn thing running right. It sure is pretty sitting there in the garage though. I don't think it likes going to shows. Runs fine all winter and then BLAM! Show season hits and it acts up. Argh.

At least Mike's only frustration is not being able to say 'when'! Just kidden ya, Mike! All this extra work is going to pay off big time when you wipe up at the shows. I'll bring my Vette to the shows you will be in.

This time, its either an exhaust leak or something mechanical. The truck is so loud, it's really hard to diagnose for an amateur. Hard to pinpoint the exact location of the sound without a stethoscope.

the exaustleak should be eazy to spot when you hold a rag against the end of the tailpipe(s) to close it off with a running engine and listen / have someone listen for the hiss at the leak

as for using a stethoscope a long screwdriver or rod against the engine and the other end against the bone in front of youre ear while holding the ear closed with youre tumb make thing suprizingly clear right through all the noise , its cheaper and more available then a stethosthingy too

That body drop isn't going to cause problems with those filler panels is it? i didn't notice how close they come to the frame.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

well didnt get very much done this weekend , but i did get one of my AC brackets made to move it up as far as i can, gained about 1 1/2 inches, the center isnt bolted yet that is why it is setting a little lopsided at the moment

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

You may have to test fit your hoses and your glove box as moving it up may change whether they will work or not as designed. I remember from mine that there wasn't much room to spare for anything else up in there. It is crammed full!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

I made some great progress on hiding my AC unit last night , i have hidden about 95% of it without cutting my dash ! i am pretty excited about the results....unfortunately i forgot my camera at work last night ! pics tomorrow, but as all projects go one modification leads to another when i moved it up in the dash cavity it totally covered the hole i had made to run my EFI wiring out of .....so i had to weld that up now i will have to figure out a new place to bring my wiring out !
