Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Since I am "officially" done with the back half (shortened the frame/box, installed lowering coils, installed 2" lowering blocks (shooting for 6" total drop), installed new/improved/relocated panhard bar, relocated upper shock mounts, flipped the trailing arm brackets, beefed up my trailing arms (skip welded and new poly bushings), cleaned and painted all that, built/installed 3" exhaust system with X pipe/DynoMax 2 chamber mufflers routed through the mid cross member and finished up blazer tank install) I ordered my 2.5" drop spindles and 2" lowering coils...yesssss. Time to turn it around in the garage and rip the front end off. Here...we...go! hahahahaha...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Try to take off the spare tire holder, couldn't get the bolts to come loose. Sawzall and about 2 minutes and it was off. Took the old nasty headliner out, cleaned the carpets, installed spectre air cleaner with top filter, new floormates, replaced all the lights. Ordered a new piece of trim for the door with clips, saddle seat cover and new dash pad from lmc.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I finished putting on mudflaps today and put another hour into buffing grill. Should have it all buffed out in another 2 hours. Tough getting 40 years of oxidation off that aluminum. I bought some seals for the door windows and the clips are not located in the right place. Most perplexing. Will have to call LMC and see what is wrong.I will finish grill thursday and install grill and front bumper and take truck for maiden voyage. Finally!! Cant wait.

Cool Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Well I started by washing it good for the cruise in tomorrow. Then I worked on the drivers side door. I got it where it closes pretty good now but the back bottom still sticks out some. I have new door handles to install, just got them today from Tim Christian , thanks they look great and GM to!

Switched the solid fan mount for a thermal fan clutch. Sooo much quieter and no more belt squeals when I speed up :-) very happy

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Well, craigslist tempted me again. Bought some basically new 2011 Dodge wheels with tires a week or so ago. And today they got installed. I still need to get some center caps but couldn't wait to get the wheels on. I love the stock look but I love the other look too!

Mark the tire and spin it one time and count how many times the drive shaft spin's.

Doesn't that only work on a posi type, I think if no posi then put one tire on the ground and spin one tire and count the revolutions and times by 2, I think. I know if posi just put both tires in air and count as you said, guess it will be obvious.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Helpd my son swap out his slider for a solid rear window on his 69. And I finally got my gas gauge to work....dropped the rear tank and pulled out the sender and the brass float had a hole and was full. Installed a new float and it works!

if you are changing the rear oil, rotate the ring gear till you see the numbers stamped on it. There should be one stamped that will read 43:14 which would be 3.08:1 for example.
