Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I went for a Kidney biopsy. Spent the night in the hospital.
Never felt better, lost weight, working out 2-3 times a week for the first time in my adult life. My blood work says I have kidney disease. WTF!
I'm trying to stay positive, but I'm not gonna lie it hit me like Mike Tyson shot to the body.

Sorry to hear this my friend. I hope it remains manageable for you. The longer I'm alive the more apprehensive I get about a doctor's visit. I too take good care of myself and always have lived by "Health is our greatest wealth" since I read that in HS. But I have also seen those who have done the same end up with bad health issues. Doesn't seem fair but as my HS coach said, "Who ever said the world was fair?". There is always that genetics factor as well. I have a few things on that list to consider as possible.

Depends on how bad. I've had chronic kidney disease for decades. Not up to dialysis yet, though. My last test showed a big increase, but the doctor hasn't called me about it yet.

That looks yummy.

I've been thinking of canning my BBQ sauce and salsa. It has a very short shelf life just in jars with no preservatives. But canning is new territory for me.

And no preservatives required.

I started hacking away at the growth that sprouted from the huge Silver Maple that had begun coexisting with my wooden barn roof, facia, and gutter. It was a crude way of tapping the tree. I still have more hacking to do today

Dermatologist . I'm sure it will heal up. I'm not going into the bark, but the roots that come out that I'm carving are bleeding pitch. I'll get a picture

"The bark is okay but the roots have to come out." That's like the dentist saying your teeth are fine but we gotta remove your gums.

Canning is very easy. I really dont need to immerse the jars in boiling water because the syrup is poured off at 217° but I still do . Syrup is done at 7° above boiling water temp. I check the boil temps just prior to canning by boiling a small pot of water because of my elevation it boils around 210-211 ° .

I guess it does sound that way. But, imagine your gum growing through your cheek. These roots are growing out of the bark at 10' off the ground. There was a root growing in the gutter. You can see the gutter and the root at the lower left in first picture

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I went by my new place today. My new next door neighbor that I haven't even seen or met yet was having a big fence installed between his house and mine.

Well... So much for the welcome wagon.

Actually I think he wanted that fence for a long time. The lady (nut case) that I bought the property from was ranting about the property line. I think that she wouldn't let him build it so he slipped it in quick when the place sold. Escrow found no problem with the property line and I could care less about inches on an acre lot. You're not going to hear any complaints out of me especially if I get a free fence out of the deal.

I will offer to pay half the cost of the fence just to be a good neighbor. Hopefully that will ease the tension of playing the drums and electric guitars and the loud exhaust pipes. Not to mention the 100lb. German Shepherd snarling through the fence at him.

He won't mind.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Nothing better than tossing a bundle of cash over the fence at your neighbor to ease any tensions right?
