Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Nothing, its sat outside taunting me but I've been way too busy getting stuck into a bathroom remodel and now a big kitchen remodel including knocking the odd wall down to extend it in our new house. Just taking five before I get a coat of paint on the kitchen ceiling, whole lot needs to be painted before tuesday when the kitchen fitters arrive with the new kitchen. Got be be done by the end of sunday as the plumber is in monday (should have been done on thursday but our original plumberlet us down at the last minute.

Once I've finished the kitchen I've got the rest of the year with no major projects scheduled so weather permitting she's goinna get some work done on her.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

FINALLY finished applying filler. Just finished with the 80 grit, lunch, then 180, then 400. Hope to clean, prep and shoot SPI black epoxy (as a top coat) tonight!

If all goes well, I'll be putting it back on the frame tomorrow. Though perhaps not, I still have welding to do on the drip rail and cleanup on the upper cowl area and shooting it. I really just want the cab back on the frame!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I drove it to Lawrence, KS for the annual AACA Swap meet. Met board member Teeitup, and bought some beauty rings for my "new" rally wheels. Then grabbed my college-age son, who I don't get to see enough of, and had him go with me to buy some tires off a Craig's list ad. All-in-all, a VERY good day!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

The old truck hasn't been moved for about three months, and hasn't been ran for about one month. I try to get over there and drive it around at least twice a month to keep everything going, skipped a few times so it needed attention. I let it sit too long and the carburetor got trashed, a rebuild and new fuel filters got it running like a top. It felt great to get it going again and take it for a drive, I'm going to take it to the gas station tomorrow and add some Sta-Bil and fresh gas to the tank also. The brakes still work great considering it's been off the road for four years already since I got my welding truck. It's going to get an oil change next week, and the steering column bearings need some attention as well as the turn signal cam. The Suburban is still parked, don't have money to throw at it yet. I know the engine is worn out, I have a used 350 to drop in but don't have time right now. My '84 hasn't needed much, just been going through a lot of gas haha.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Drove it to work Friday. Going back after lunch I noticed a vibration at 30-40 mph. Turned around, took it home and parked it. Came home from church tonight riding with my wife driving her Traverse. When we pulled in the garage I saw the problem. Missing lug nut on the left rear. Jacked her up and tightened the other four. I worked on the brakes about 3 weeks ago and must have left the lug nuts only snugged.
