Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
On a side note, I love your truck. Came across your youtube video about 4 days ago and then found your build up thread. Coming along real nicely. Made me rethink everything I had planned for my truck. Now I'm at a complete blank as far as what engine I'm gonna run

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Did you have to get the brackets to go with it or did you use the 73-80 brackets?

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
i had to cut the end of my frame off and use the '84 brackets, if you decide to do the swap look at your frame ends and the frame ends of the donor to see if they are different, if they are make a template of the donor to use on your truck

The wheels give the truck the lowrider look/personality. Personally I think some big billets for example would destroy the look it has going on.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
I'm really not a wire wheel guy but they do look great on that truck. I think it has something to do with the phantom the wires seem to go well together. Also like that it is a stepside man.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Well this is good to know. I didnt think there would be such a difference in the frame ends. But I am considering the swap because it looks really good. And yours is the only round-eye square body I've seen with an 83-87 front bumper.

When I first saw that truck, it reminded me of the a truck from a TV show. Just can't think of that TV show.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
here's my pride dazed and confused joy. Some of the more "life experienced" guys might have flash backs or something.
before 5ish years later/lots of money and time. these new pics were taken at my old high school parking lot that it never got to rule because it took so long.. this is the wood bed that I..MYSELF..HAND CARVED,stained and varnished..not bad for my first time EVER messing with wood.. the guy who did it orignially screwed it up.. and the engine bay. yes the battery is ugly. and yes i did it all myself with some help from my father..all he did was spray the paint. mostly because he wanted to say he did something.
