Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Today, I removed the cowl cover on my 69. The Lisle wiper removal tool works like a champ, and I'd recommend it at the very low price. Actually, the hardest part about removing the cowl cover was figuring out the needlessly complex radio antenna mounting system, but once that was done, no problem.
Cleaned up thoroughly under the panel, lubed the wiper linkage, gave the cowl cover a good waxing, cleaned up and treated the rubber seal that goes between the cowl and the engine hood, then put everything back together. The reason for doing this was to make sure that there was no accumulations of dead leaves, dirt, and other crud that would hold moisture and promote rusting. Feels good to know that all the metal under there is in really good shape (no rust at all), and that one more little job is done. Next, vacuum bleeding the brake system, next sunny day.

Didn't do this today, but mine are buttoned up tighter than a drum.
"Spotted" in sheet. And then sealed with adhesive. Painted flat black.. I still get fresh air. Through the windows and wind wings.. Using Vintage air if I want to change the temp. Works for me.

Great idea. Wish I'd thought of it about 8 hours ago

Nothing, but tomorrow I remove the brakes from the cab and dive into the accelerator. Takes me a while, but this cab is nearly stripped.
Now if I can find someone to remove my windshield. At this rate I'll end up doing that too. I'd rather not. This is all new to me, and the windows have the stainless.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I got the new all aluminium radiator installed in the ramp truck today.
The radiator clamps don't fit perfect but they do tighten it down and hold it in place so I'm good with it for now. I just wanted to get it in before real cold weather got here. it has the proper water anti freeze mix now.

New diff and brake booster for me this weekend. Going from a blown up 373 with posi to an open 308.
And no vacuum leak will allow me to adjust my carb properly.

Received my bumper guards from brotherstrucks that were back ordered for a couple weeks. Had a slight hiccup while installing them because the bolts were not long enough but after getting the correct length bolts they bolted on no problem.

Cleaned out a bay and put the truck inside before winter sets in. I bought it in June and it will never sleep outside again.

Today I finally got my Map Lights wired and working. I aimed my bumper driving lights. I ordered a new Dash bezel, that should be here by Wednesday, so I'll be redoing my whole dash next weekend. Can't wait.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Finally got the 6.0 I rebuilt into the 67 today. Also changed from Auto to manual. Still have wiring to do and the normal, but soon!
No more carburetor, turn the key and go even if it does sit for a week or two! The 350 has a Thumpr cam and was a little to much for traffic so the 6.0 is a little milder. I went with a older A833/NP440 4speed overdrive that has almost the same ratio's as the 200R4 it replaces. The Vintage air compressor pulley has to be changed to the one I used for testing on the engine test stand. I used Captain Fab's clutch brackets with my HydroBoost and it worked great.

Jacked up the rear and got the fill plug loose on the differential. Hopefully I have time this week after work to change the fluid. Also finally got my interior heater box out so I can clean the last of the mouse nest out.

Today I took it for one last drive and then put it in garage for winter. Latest time of year I've ever been able to drive it without snow.

Got tired of the cracked plastic on my 68's arm rests so I "reupholstered" them. It was a tough job but I think they came out nice! LOL
