Threw on some rallies with new tires...shaved the drip-rails, and working on shaving the mirrors....Plan on getting it lowered some more after winter........

Man you might kick yourself for shaving the drip rails, believe it or not they are a major part of the truck, especially with out weather in ks.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
thanks knightowl73, the front tires are 215/60/15 and out back 275/60/15
and just to ad my two cents on the drip rail issue, if your going to modify your truck do it the way you want, but my opinion is shave those things, right along with those dumbo looking mirrors |

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
I actually like his truck, nice cowl hood and phantom grill. I just know from previous experience that the drip rails actually are a functional piece on these trucks.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
i agree with you, my truck leaks since they were removed new weather stripping didnt help either. Like i always say, Sometimes custom aint cool, but it sure looks good. 450 plus horsepower isnt practical for a daily driver either, but i did it anyway, Heh Heh Heh

This is it, 1980 took the spokes off, they just were not me, not my thing. I like more the hot rod look.

I like it too without the spokes, not my style either. I like the way the rollpan is cut for the big azz exhaust tips.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Thank you everybody, the front is bagged, stock spindles, 3" dropped lower a arm which im not a fan of and im going to take 2" out of. the wheels are centerline 15x8 front tires are 215/65/15 and 275/60/15 out back. The engine is an "after the fact" ZZ430 Fast Burn heads GM bow tie intake, carter carb, headman ceramic headers, th350 tranny with 2000 stall, and a 10 bolt limited slip.

Never was a fan of the 80' square light but it looks perfect on your truck!

6.0 H/C and nitrous. I'll ask him next time I see him to get the exact specs.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
NIIICEEE, my father had a '80 GMC 4X4 and it was the first truck i ever drove i was must've been like 6-7 years old, just tall enough to reach the pedals.. he sold it and i'm bound and determined to find another '80 and rebuild it..4 or 2wd doesn't matter.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Here are some pics of my 77 , I put a 73/74 grill and super custom emblems on it , it was a factory big block shortbed truck , I've had it for 15 years , started to rebuild it 5 years ago, put a 496 in and a 4 link in the rear , I got it back from the body /paint guy just as it started to get cold but I did manage to get the center grill backets tuned up and the grill mounted before I locked it in the garage for the winter,

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
My broke meskin ass can't afford billet rims, so I had to settle for the Eagle Alloy 225's on a DJM 5/5 drop.
