Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Are you planning on running a trans cooler? If so, where are you planning on mounting the cooler and how long are those jiffy tite braided hoses? That trans looks great... Is that a stock stall converter?

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Already have a cooler in front of, plus the one in; the radiator... but may upgrade to a plate style. Jiffy-tite are like 18" long I think. Convertor is rated 2200-2300 stall with a bbc...but thinking my little 6.0L makes enough it should stall the same or a hair higher.

I'm sure as time goes on, motor makes more power, and I start abusing it more...I'll put some aftermarket parts in. I'd like to know what is different between my 4L85e and the Supermatic 4L85e...then just duplicate it. I just couldn't stretch (+/-$500 more) any further when I bought this one.

Sanded and painted two 15x6 steelies. Still just collecting parts. Ordering 15x8s next so that I can start rolling it around. Perhaps drive it around the block a couple times. (even though it has no glass. lol)

That looks very cool. Is that copper or something else?

I welded the broken spot welds around the door jamb and on the windshield frame, cleaned up the welds on the new rockers, undercoated the hump cover and started cleaning up the workbench and around the jimmy so I have room to work on the paint prep for the front half of the tub.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Saturday, finally bolted in bucket seats and center console after adding support for the seats a few weeks ago and worked on putting in a headliner. The headliner is tougher than I expected. Hoping to finish these up today.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I did a repaint on my bezel, too. Just the outer "rim".

Put it aside to dry and climbed under the bed. Pulled the lenses, the light and back-up "pods" for cleaning and connection inspection/cleaning.
Put in a new rear tail light harness. Messy, dirty job. Replaced the main tail light lenses.

Can't get the marker lights working. BU lights not working either. Have to check the switches and connection up front. It's a new (and very nice) steering column.
And, the cab's a convert from a stick to an automatic. So, I have to get familiar with the switches and switch position adjustment.

When I was pulling the dash from it's second mock up, I found a couple of dash mount nuts I'd missed. Put some rubber covers on a few of the dash screws that might
get too close to the wiring when it's all buttoned up.

Still trying to figure out the brake fluid leak.

Wiring, wiring, and more wiring. Man, you should have seen what one of the P.O.'s of that bed did to the wiring on that harness.

Upside down lens mock-up...Hahahaha!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got some sem color coat and freshened up my visors and arm rests, and put them in. I installed the windshield, and put most of the inside back together. The carpet should be here on Tuesday. She is weather tight now, so I can park it outside and bring the box in, and hopefully get that done in the next week or two. It sucks having a super small garage!!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Bam. Finished it up (do need to get a carbide bit for my die grinder, and clean up a few hard to reach welds). Decided to strip the frame down and put on SPI epoxy instead of the junk I had previously. Stripped and repainted total area under cab. I'll be doing the rest of the frame in pieces as I go.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Installed the first side (driver's) of the electric windows that the P.O. and my friend gave me as a bro-bonus.
I had the doors and windows all done, but I'm really glad for the e-windows.

Tip: If you ever, in the most remote chance think you'll be taking your doors apart again, never, ever, ever use these big handle "guards"
(or whatever you call them) shown in the pic. I had to grind brand new handles into trash to get the door panels off. They simply hide
the clips. At least with the door panels *I* am using.

I got one side ground down, and was grousing like the old codger I am when grandson Will showed up to clean up my mess and save
the day and mood. He handed me tools until one side was all buttoned up.

Now, I'm off for a few weeks and no time for the truck.Bummer. I was hoping to get both sides done so I could mail off both manuals
off and mailed to a Form Member for his build.
