Of course , broken exhaust bolts.

Last one is just below the surface. I can't get a weld to hold it. ERRR
I drilled and tried easy out, gave up afraid it was going to break.

the heat from welding the nuts on is whats helping break the others loose. find something to fit kind of tight into the hole of the drilled stud, heat it with a torch to transfer the heat throughout the bolt, remove the ( something), and try the easy-out while its hot...

Question Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

RE: Bed Wood :

Is that some sort of one piece bed ? .

My '69 has the usual planks and metal strips .

This looks like the basis for a beautiful custom (non work) bed floor .

Yes it lays over the top of my metal floor, if I need to haul something I can remove the wood floor in less than 5min... thinking I may have some pinstriping done on it before we lay the epoxy over it again

I went out and spun mine over. Hasnt ran for awhile since the brakes went out. Decided it needed to run for a little bit and shake the mice out of it. Fired right up in the cold weather and let her get up to temp before shutting it down again.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

This is the link to the item I purchased (eBay):

12V-24V Car Vehicle Waterproof 5V 2.1A + 2.1A Dual USB Power Sockets Outlet

I had to use a "step bit", it's used to cut small holes into larger ones for conduit into electrical panels (I have used them many times) they are about $35 at Lowe's Home Improvement, make sure to get the one that is up to 1-1/8", at least that's what mine was. See if you have an electrician friend, they may have one you could use. Don't try holding a hole saw in place - it won't turn out well (for the truck or you, I have seen people try it). I have several vehicles that I want to add one of the sockets to, so the $35 wasn't a bad deal.

I took a round file to remove the barbs that remained from the bit. It was a really tight fit so it doesn't move around inside the hole, I just got it in there, I started to hook up the wires, but when I started looking at the wiring, it was quite obvious that whoever installed the radio (non factory, i don't think a dealer did it either), there was a nest of wires, a lot of them were cut and hanging loose, so I need to chase them out and see what goes where and remove wires that are not necessary. Nothing can ever be easy!

You may be able to use a small grinding wheel on a Dremel tool to make the hole larger, mark the hole needed then cut, this would also allow you to leave the sides flat so the power adapter is "keyed" into the hole.

After that you just simply connect the old cigarette wires to the back using the supplied crimp connectors.

That's about all I know that you would need. I hope it helps!

Thanks guys!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Ordered more parts to get ready to lower my 70. Should have all pieces I need to get project started. Going to do 3 and 4 inch drop and install front sway bar and adjustable track bar in rear with lowered shocks. Hope to get started soon.

Took a day off from work and the temp was above 75 so I poured the epoxy.. my wife tells me I'm inpatient lol.. it's not as slick as I'd like so I'll wait a week sand it with 220grit and pour another coat of epoxy

this was on my FB feed this morning, thought you guys would get a kick out of it. Ingenuity at it's finest!

"Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads!"

I think he needs to paint the rims white and make some hub caps to match the front!
