Inflation Calculator

$5,000.00 in 1965 had the same buying power as $39,507.05 in 2018

Annual inflation over this period was about 3.98%
I'm thinking it's not a good parallel, because in 1965 $5000 could buy one like the above truck from a large selection. It wasn't in any way difficult to find an unmolested new truck. Just go down to your local chevy dealer.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

c'mon now, if you're within a state or two, it's hard to pass this one up...
Have seen it listed before, but I believe price has dropped a good bit. Can't really tell, but the truck alone looks worth the asking price - 66 Custom Camper that is pretty original and appears to be in decent shape - but I do see a few decent dents too... Sell the camper and boat and cut a good thousand off the price!

66 C20 Custom Camper with camper and boat: $3500

Ha, yeah, clearly not 4WD! I didn't even notice that. If it had the original motor (if it were a 283 or 327), I'd love to have it.

I drove a 66 ford one summer to the fields before I had my license that wouldn't shift so I just smacked it in second and drove it for weeks. I guess it was a one on the tree lol.

My 64 is a 3 on the tree. One day driving it, my wife said she wanted to try it out.....we swapped seats, I showed her the shift pattern and away she went. I think shes better at driving a three on the tree than I am......and I've been driving them for years.

My c10 is a 3 OTT and that is what I learned to drive a manual with. I also taught my best friend how to drive a manual with it.

Also here's a suburban that someone needs to save https://atlanta.craigslist.org/eat/c...667208861.html
