Jason, some black commercial license plates ending in H or J would seal the deal and be era correct.

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Your 71' is awesome. What's the deal with all the old cool sheet metal leaving the states? Nacho now your Gumby. It's just not fair. Looking for a decent patina truck now. I'm not having a lot of luck.

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Sorry about the mix up of gumby. I'm really gravitating towards a 64' or 65'. Can I ask did you sell the albatross on eBay? Just curious on the sheet metal leaving the country.

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
No sweat buddy. Gumby has a forever home in my garage once the build is done. As for the Albatross, I listed it on Ebay and sold it there. No matter how you look at it, original patina C10's are in high demand so Ebay seemed like the best place to offer it to the world
The SEMA crunch is over after next week so progress should kick up soon after on Gumby. Stay tuned guys.

Well, Finally Gumby has center stage on the lift so its full speed ahead from here on out. Im ready to see sheet metal on it again and get out and drive it! Here are some pics I took last week. No wheel shots yet, but coming soon...

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
In the mean time, I haven't been just sitting around. The Ghost has been keeping me busy. I redid the interior on it over the last few weeks. The seat cover in there was a nice old JC Whitney cover that had a cool look to it but it was ripped, faded and stained so that came out. I like the look of the houndstooth so I went with that cover, blue carpet and new shift boot. Check the before and after...
Very cool and a nice place to sit in now. I have to say, when I pulled the door panels to wax the doors and the channel, the original paint behind them was as nice as the paint all over the truck. Again, this thing is such an awesome survivor.

Nice looking trucks, for sure. The cabin refresh really made a huge difference, and really doesn't cos all that much to do. Cool looking workspace too.

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Excellent progress and pics.
Can you tell me what P/S bracket Delmo is using on your engine? It seems to position the power steering pump a little higher than normal. I would be curious to see the alternator bracket for the passenger side also,... since it still has the short water pump on it.

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Forgot to post this up but here is where the motor is at on the Ghost right now. I spent some time polishing the firewall and getting all the junk and skuzz off of it and ended up with nice clean white paint and factory grease pencil markings showing up.
Like I said, motor needs to come out for paint and then its dialed. What do you guys think?

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Seriously buddy, no joke there... Im trying to keep my wallet locked up but its not working out that way. Its ok though, on a truck like this Im happy to fix what needs fixing and make it as good as it can get. I found a beautiful driver original white paint front fender for it this week. Im buffing it now and it will go on this weekend. Glad you guys are enjoying it.

I really like your style.
You do everything "right" when modifying these trucks,... in my opinion. Love it!

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Love that light blue... its exactly how I would like my truck to look when done, but due to budget probably wont be able to do a color change.
Perfect color... Perfect stance... just perfect. Would save me a lot of trouble if I could just trade ya....lol... But now seriously, its awesome. Thanks for the inspiration.
