Is it some sort of adjustable limiter? The main bolt clamps onto a rail then the pin is adjustable to limit the travel of something. I just don't know what that something is.

Hooks on the the belt to align the pulleys on a Harley?

I normally just use a straight edge.

I think your splitting hairs on this one. It allows visual alignment of sprocket for accurate alignment of drive chain and rear wheel per the maker of the tool.

Not sure which maker your referring to, there's a bunch that look alike......but no part of this one touches or hooks to any part of a chain or belt.

But you are correct motometal as it does "align the sprockets". It clamps on the sprocket and visually aligns the rod to the chain......and like Dave said that's certainly close enough.....sorry for the misunderstanding

It doesn't appear to be airtight unless it's soldered.....so it has to be some sort of exhaust or vent

Is it something that is mass produced ...or is it custom built for a particular application ?
