Re: Surf Blue
Finally pulled the trigger on the engine swap I've been talking about doing. I decided to go with the ZZ502.............so I ordered it today.
I also ordered the GM performance parts serpentine belt setup ,and some Sanderson ceramic coated headers to go along with it. Hopefully it will all be here next week , I'll post pics when it all gets here.

Re: Surf Blue
69chevyshort,
I have seen a simple cam/lifter/spring swap that pumps out 600hp on a 502. Ill try to find the link for you.

Re: Surf Blue
The new motor showed up along with the serpentine belt setup, still waiting on the headers though. I pulled the small block out and I'll start installing the new goodies soon.

The headers showed up today along with a new elec. fuel pump and a few other small things I needed. I took the trans. crossmember and my motor mounts to work and painted them flat black. I'm going to paint the frame rails and anything else in the engine compartment flat black while I have it all torn apart. I'll post more pics in a few days when I drop the motor in.

Re: Surf Blue
Got the motor dropped in ,had a few clearance issues I had to handle but nothing major. The headers showed up so I test fitted those , the passenger side fit nicely but the drivers side came really close to the motor mount perch, so I did some engineering and made a little extra room there. The driver side valve cover was another clearance issue ,it was really close to the firewall so I addressed that as well. That's it for now I'll post more when I get more done.
IGNORE my nasty master cylinder and steering linkage, they're fixing to go BYE-BYE.
