Thanks,, I love driving the Chevelle!!! I left about 10:45PM and headed home..
The cool night air was awesome and I just went the extra, extra long way home.
I was enjoying all the smells of the country air , the alfalfa fields and all the stars and moon only seen from a convertible...

Sorry , I am an official of the Building Dept now with an office in City Hall, and proper conduct must be maintained at all times.
I love this new job.. It is a perfect fit for me, but the regular hours are cramping my garage hours!!!!

Looks like a great turnout for the cruise and the show. Nice Chevelle and the truck is looking good too.

The cruise was a little rough on the 64.
The truck had sat for several years before we bought it and really had a thick sludge problem in the oil and the motor oil is always really dirty.

As the summer heats up, now we are having lifter problems. I have 15/40 diesel oil in now and the lifters sometimes click until they pump up. I have adjusted them twice and they still randomly click. sometimes they dont click. It just comes and goes.

I poured ATF down the carb Sunday morning after the cruise and smoked out the front yard and tried to clean the top end , I poured Marvel Mystery oil in the gas tank and the oil and I am changing the oil this weekend back to Valvoline 10-30 racing oil, Which has the ZDDP additive.

I did install the new chrome valve cover... looks faster with the chrome or maybe it is the Offenhauser !!!!

Re: Bubba's recycling project

I was told back in the old days they ran 30 weight in the summer and 20 weight in the winter.. I am thinking the 15/40 may be a little thick and the hot temperature is still moving a little sludge around.. The marvel mystery oil should help clean it up..
I have been a little hesitant to use it until now , as not to disturb things too much and cause other problems.
But then I found a guy with a 283 at the swap meet. I am holding out for a 327, but the 283 is an option.

Re: Bubba's recycling project

Bubba could you post a picture of your voltage regulor? My batt went dead I put in a new alt and reg. I'm not sure about how the reg plugs in. It has a main 4 way plug but then i was looking under it and I see another single plug? When I gor hit it wreaked all that stuff so I don't know how it goes back together. I've been charging my batt. about once a week.

Sorry Dave, I pulled my voltage regulator and external regulated alternator off and went with a 63 amp internally regulated style when I rewired the headlights and added headlight relays . Mine is a one wire style now....
I think it is an SI style ,It has better voltage output and easier to wire in...
The guys that hang out in the Electrical section were a great help and there are also some stickies in the FAQ.
Good luck, Bubba

Re: Bubba's recycling project

That's OK, Kyle I have worked night shift before and remember what it is like to awake at the "wrong hours" of the day.

Truck up-date - still going down the road with no issues.
I would like to improve the brakes before school starts up again. Change over to the hydro-boost,
I was thinking about making a pick-a-part run this afternoon. At least I would have the parts here but not the time to install them yet.

Western Idaho State Fair starts for us on Thursday and 4-H/ FFA livestock events will keep us busy for the next 10 days.

My youngest daughter will get her drivers permit this fall.. She and I were running errands in the neighboring town last night, when she spotted a yellow 69 C-10 in a used car lot and we went and checked it out!
It had a 16K price tag and a 454 but was really fun to drive!! The tires smoked really easy!! almost too easy
Way too much truck for a teenager driver but at least she is getting the idea that classic trucks are the way to go!!!

I do not think so, she is my wild child. She is checking out Cameros on craig's list already, but realizes insurance is a costly thing!!
I have tried to keep up with her on a 4-wheeler the other day and I just got dusted out and had to quit.

Hello. I was wondering if you could take some detailed photos of the lines how there ran on your hydro boost setup from top to bottom cause I hear ppl say to T them an I'm more a visual learner than reader. Did you use the factory astro van lines ? I just bought mine yesterday I wanted to start next weekend

She is pretty happy with the fair results. Her college fund is a lot bigger now after the market sale. That hog brought the #4 top selling price.

Alan- Now as a Georgia resident, You are going to watch the Boise State vs Georgia game tonight aren't you ????

Game starts in under two hours,
Chicken and ribs are cooking , beverages are properly chilled and guests are gonna be here real soon!!! Hope it all turns out well.

To be honest I don't follow football. I did turn it on after the Nationwide race. It looks like I wouldn't have missed anything if I didn't watch. Congrats on the win.
