Re: Project "Jezebel"
I think you having it on jack stands is causing part of the problem. Bolt the front wheels on and put it on the ground and recheck. You may still have to add a few shims, but I bet it is closer.
Posted via Mobile Device
Rob, I tried your suggestion and took it down from the jack stands and let it set on the wheels. While this helped some I still have about a 1/2 gap between the lines in the cab vs. bed.

I received the new cab mounts and the rears in the new kit are about 1/4" taller than the fronts. I installed the new cab mounts and will have to add shims to get the cab inline with the bed.

Re: Project "Jezebel"
This might not be of any help, but I just purchased new bushings from Brother's. The front mounts are 1-7/16" tall and the rears are 1-1/4". I will be installing them this weekend. There also looks to be at least one additional steel washer (approximately 1/8" thick) in between my old bushings and the cab.
Thanks for the reply. Are you saying your front mounts are taller than the rears? The instructions I have with my new mounts show it the other way around. I will verify I didn't read my instructions incorrectly.

That is correct. However, there are 2 items to note: 1) Instructions were not included with mine and I determined which bushings where the front based on the larger inner diameter thru hole and how they matched the bushings I removed. 2) I had to shim the rear bushings approximately 1/8" in order for the cab to line up with the bed. Now I am questioning if the front and rear bushings should be swapped for one another. Hmmmm.... It will be interesting to see the bushings from Classic Parts work out.

Re: Project "Jezebel"

Quite a bit of progress but a lot more still to be done.

Dynamat
Willwood master cylinder and proportioning valve
Brake lines
Rear 95 Impala SS brakes
Boyd's Tank and SS fuel line
American AutoWire harness
Dakota Digital VHX dash, AC Controller, and Gear selector
Vintage Air Gen IV
Holley Fuel pump and Street Avenger carb
Early Classic Drop Spindles and tranny cross-member
Anti-sway bar and prothane bushings
Third brake light (55 Chevy)
Champion Monster 4 core aluminum radiator w/dual fans

Upholstery guy says the upholstery will be done tomorrow. We will see.

Here are some pics (some show the work in progress). If there are any area's you want more pics on, let me know.

Since I didn't want to bolt anything to the firewall I made this bracket to bolt the evap to. It's screwed into the cowl at the top and behind a bracket on the toe board.

I did have the 1/4 round rubber isolators. I took them out but may have to come up with something to replace them with.

Re: Project "Jezebel"

Making some progress, though not as much as I would like.

Wiring almost complete.

Flaming river polished stainless steering column installed.

Lokar mechanical shifter installed

Dakota Digital VHX gauges installed

Dakota Digital VA controller installed. Although the display is red and I ordered blue.... The box even listed it as blue. I'll have to call and swap it out.

Glass installed

Sanderson headers installed

Bed and cab bolted down. It took a half inch of shims to level the rear of the cab. I may have to add more shims when I install the front sheet metal.

Picked up he interior from the upholstery shop. Let me know what you think.

Started the engine.

Here are some pics. It will take a few posts to upload them unless if someone can tell me why I can't upload but one pic as a time via this iPad....

The reason you can't post but one picture at a time is. The pictures are to large. resize your pictures before trying to up load them. The site can't up load that size. I had the same problem. I contacted the site and they told me the same thing I am telling you. gdavis from Florida

Looking awesome and sounds real snappy! I think I'm going to go invest in Goodyear because I think you'll be burning through the tires on that bad boy.

Re: Project "Jezebel"

This project reminds me of another c10 project a friend of mine did, no rust left unfixed.
In my opinion the Quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail is top notch A #1 and with this level of restoration the truck will command top dollar when you are done.
This one deserves some serious documentation so people can see all the hard work you put into it and the level of professionalism it was treated to.

Re: Project "Jezebel"

Thanks guys for all the comments. Here are a couple more pics for ya. I installed the front sheetmetal and she is starting to look like a truck again.

I haven't color sanded the hood yet and I still need to buff those panels that I have cut already.
