And I complain about blowing the leaves at my house. Clearing the snow must be a pain in the A**. We have not had any rain this month and looking at another year of water shortages in Ca.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Hang in there Gary! The warmth is just a few months away. I've seriously thought at time about buying a surplus flame thrower as apposed to shoveling.
How fun would that be?!!

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
i have had that thought several times! at this latitude it never gets super cold for too many days in a row so our snow melts pretty decent between storms. sounds good, except i have a north facing drive and the daytime sun/warmth melts the snow off my roof and makes enormous ice piles on my driveway as it drips off the eaves. a flame thrower would be super!

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Hey Chris !
I've made a little progress but not much. Other priorities have once again gotten in front of the truck, house projects, 16' x 20' veggie garden going in, and currently looking for another car for my daughter.... Man she is brutal on cars..... "LOL" Yes it starting to get warm, but that means I'm busy with work also, being an HVAC tech. The truck is working it's way back to the head of the pile though. I did just get it registered so I could get insurance on it, but that also will work to get me motivated to get it done !!!!

Nice touch! its subtle but i can see the extra bend angle due to the alt/serp setup, I like it!

Thanks a lot Gary! Now I'm gonna have to have one of those made. And I was pretty much done.
But seriously, glad your back on the truck. Looking forward to seeing it come together down the stretch. Chris

Thanks Striker !
This has been my dream for a while, and it's slowly becoming reality ! Just a little too slow for my liking ! "LOL" The rear end is next. Re-gearing to 3.73's, new bearings & seals, disc brakes and check out the posi unit. Gary

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
So the next thing I decided to tackle was changing my gears from 3:08 to 3:73's. My rear end has a 3 series eaton posi in it and I wanted to keep it so a while back I purchase a set of 3:73's ( Thick set gears ) for a 3 series carrier that a board member had for sale. Now prior to ordering any additional parts I needed to determine if the posi needed to be rebuilt. After searching the internet I found that the posi should have a minimum of 30 up to 70 ft lbs of break away torque. If it was 30 or less it would need to be rebuilt. So I made a jig to go on my wheel studs that allow me to use my torque wrench to determine
were it was. The opposite needs to be on the ground and you slowly put pressure on the torque wrench watching the needle until the posi slips. I came up with 40 ft lbs so I'm going to leave it alone. Here are some pictures, that may help if anyone else needs to do the same. Next I'll tear the rear end down and order what's needed. The rear end rebuild will be coming soon. Gary
