I'm glad to see you're still all good and well up there. Good luck finishing up your basement and getting back to the camaro project.

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone

Well, here i am, Finally. I know, I know. bout darn time. So i got our basement done in the house and have been working on the camaro for the past few weeks. It may not seem like a whole lot has gotten done, but trust me, it has been so TEDIOUS, that it hurts. i have managed to get all the brake lines bent and run, fuel lines, bent and run, prop valves on, Remember that this this came in 25ft coils. Fuel line is now 3/8" aluminum, exhaust is all finished, trans is all finished, starter is shimmed and on, finally after 5 runs to the part store, got the correct belts for the alternator. The windsheild wiper motor is rebuilt and cleaned and installed. the complete heat system has been fully rebuilt, cleaned and installed. I finally got a vent for the rear differential!!!! gas cap is on.

The thing that took me the longest was the wiring, the wiring that came with the car was all cut up and truthfully shot. So I had a spare harness from a RS/SS around and i cleaned it up and used it in the car. still had to patch a few spots but overall not bad. I took apart the old cluster and cleaned it all up and put all the pieces into the new gauge panel. Once that was all done i got the car wired up for a stereo. Gotta have tunes Cruizin around.

I would say that is about it for now. I am gonna get the sheetmetal all hung on the car tomorrow nite, and go from there. I will update more often now guys. Sry about that. oh and got the hinges put together.

The exhaust was NOT a direct fit, Ipent hours on it and modifying it so that it would look nice and exit even!!!

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone

a little tip, put the bushing on your finger and pour some motor oil in it to the top, then squeeze with your fingers till the oil comes through the bushin, the brass is very porous, this helps with lubricartion and keeps the bushing oiled for a long time.

I would have liked one shot of the whole car, but this'll do. I'm at the point where I would rather refinish my basement than go out and sand some more. At least this one is going together.

Looking great James! I know you have put a bunch of time in all the upgrades that you have done since the last pics. So whats the plan for paint? You going to end up doing it all after assembly? I assume the firewall is finished? Keep the updates coming.
