Re: 68 project

Yes, it is time to pull the cab back off and finish up on the frame, suspension and getting the motor set right. I had to change my motor mounts to fit the headers they would not clear so now I have pulled the frame mounts off the 78 chassis and they clear fine. So, you can make camaro headers work on a c10

I will be partially tearing down the motor to do a few mods to it, I do have concern with the motor so I want to check into it further, may do a complete rebuild and add some other mods to it while I am into it.

Re: 68 project

Thanks for following along John, it definitely has its challenges but will be rewarding the day I get to pull it out on the street and drive it once again

Technically my truck is done, I'm just making it what I wanted it to be 20 years ago when that 15 year old kid bought it. You can see it at Run to the Sun this weekend, well at least on Saturday, 'cause I have jack squat for vacation time. It does look like it might be a bit chilly for the beach this weekend though...

These build threads take on a new meaning when you meet the members and see the trucks in person. I saw Larry's in late jan/early Feb? and now I want to see it done too.

Making some really good progress Larry. The bed wood turned out really nice and the black strips really make it stand out.

Re: 68 project

Larry,
Just finished looking at every page of your build and I'm blown away by what you've done to this truck! I'm sure that you'll be right on target for June. Keep up the great work and maybe if I have time I will make the trip down to check it out.

Re: 68 project

Seam sealed the whole inside of cab and most of the outside, sprayed most of the inside with dupli color paintable undercoat. Real close to finishing all the body work on the cab also should be able to prime it out this week and hopefully color coat it.

Re: 68 project

Ordered my 6" Hotchkiss drop springs for the back, hoping this puts me where I want to be. Should be here for the weekend. Work is wide open right now so not to sure I will hit the goals I had in mind for this week.
