Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Awesome man looking great cant wait to see the stuff on the truck.
Z06 brakes are huge people have been having hard time finding wheels that will fit. But am sure you got it figured out right on man How much did the ford 9 set u back? Am looking for one my self. |

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
The 9 was custom ordered to my specs and it was 950 shipped. No center section a good one is about another 1,000
As for the breaks I agree the calipers are big and it will be a challenge to find wheels to clear calipers, the rotors just dont have enough kick out youre best bet is to run sum sort of spacer I ended using a billet adapter this gave me sufficient wheel bolt thread and the clearance I needed. I got these 2 pics Last edited by smokedat; 10-03-2010 at 11:09 PM. |

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Started putting the parts together as i predicted I did need a spacer to clear the calipers. Once I had it all built with the wheels on it lookd huge like if there was no way it would fit in a truck.
My plan is to center the rear axle with wheels on, after i triple check my measurements I will start welding the 4 link in place. I need the spacers I will order those on Monday so work on this will have to wait Last edited by smokedat; 10-03-2010 at 11:08 PM. |

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Your photography blows everything else away on this board.
Is there a way to pull off the focus / fade with a standard digital camera? That makes such a huge difference.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Thanks, I use an SLR camera the ones wit the detachable lenses, unfortunatly a standard compact digital will not produce the depth of field effect in order to achieve that you need an aperature of 2.8

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Today i started on the 4 link i managed to hang to bottom arms and the top piece were the coilovers connect for this I used a 1.50" OD carbon steel pipe. I didnt have enough time to hang the tri angle arms those require more attention due to the fact that the pumkin is off set to the driver side by a few inches, I should be able to knock it out tomorow. here are a few pics of the progress.
